At a glance

It suits households wanting quiet operation, simple controls and flexible wall-mount or freestanding use. Key strengths are silent running, portability and built-in safety features. The main limitation is that it is best for heating one room at a time rather than larger open spaces.

This heater is better suited to small to medium enclosed rooms and one-room-at-a-time use, so it is less suitable than higher-output or smart heating options for large open-plan areas.
Small room suitability
Well suited to small rooms and suitable for many medium enclosed rooms
Energy efficiency score
6/10 - Thermostat and 24-hour timer can help manage runtime, but no smart controls, eco mode or energy rating details are listed.
Noise level vs category average
Quieter than average - silent operation is a strong fit for sleep and study spaces
Safety features score
8/10 - Includes child safety lock and overheat protection for added peace of mind.
Portability rating
8/10 - Slimline build, light weight and included castors make it easy to move, while wall-mounting adds placement flexibility.
Key benefits
- 1500w heating power: Provides solid warmth for small to medium rooms like bedrooms, studies and enclosed living areas.
- Variable heating settings: Lets you adjust the heat output to better match changing room conditions and personal comfort.
- 24-hour timer: Makes it easy to schedule heating around daily routines so the room is warm when you need it.
- Thermostat: Helps maintain a steady room temperature with less manual adjustment during use.
- Silent operation: Ideal for bedrooms, nurseries and study spaces where low-noise heating is preferred.
- Portable or wall-mountable design: Gives you flexibility to move it between rooms or install it in a more permanent position.
- Child safety lock: Adds peace of mind in family homes by helping prevent unintended setting changes.
- Overheat protection: Automatically adds a layer of safety if the unit becomes too hot during operation.
Q: Can this panel heater stay on the wall instead of castors?
A: Yes. Rinnai PEPH15PEW can be used as a wall-mounted heater or as a freestanding unit on castors. Wall mounting suits a fixed room setup, while the castors are the better option if you want to move it between rooms.
Q: Is it suitable for open plan living areas or one room?
A: It is better suited to one enclosed room at a time. Rinnai PEPH15PEW is designed for targeted heating in small to medium spaces such as a bedroom, study, or enclosed living area, not for heating a large open-plan zone.
Q: Does this heater make fan noise while it is running?
A: No. Rinnai PEPH15PEW is designed for silent operation, so it does not have the fan noise many portable heaters produce. That makes it a better fit for bedrooms, studies, or other spaces where background noise can be distracting.
Q: Can you lock the controls so children cannot change settings?
A: Yes. This model includes a child safety lock to help prevent settings being changed from the control panel during use. It is still a heater, so the lock is a control feature rather than a reason to leave it unattended around children.
Q: What is included for freestanding or wall-mounted setup?
A: Rinnai PEPH15PEW includes wall mounting screws, 4 castors, 2 castor brackets, a screwdriver, 4 screws, and the operating and installation instructions. That gives you what you need to set it up on the wall or use it freestanding.
Q: Can I set this heater to turn on before bedtime?
A: Yes. Rinnai PEPH15PEW has a 24-hour timer, so you can schedule it around your routine instead of switching it on manually each time. It does not include Wi-Fi or app control, so changes need to be made on the heater itself.
