Easy set up with multiple installation options
Easy setup with QR codes guiding you through the process. Multiple options for installation with extension code for solar panel allowing you to conveniently position the solar panel away from the camera if required. Mounting plate took a bit of force to click in to place, but I guess thats a good thing as least you know it is secure.

Great camera with solar power
No need to worry about connection to power as this camera is solar powered. Doesn't need a lot of solar to keep the onboard battery charged. Slot in a micro SD card and its up and running, with good daytime and night-time vision. Also has tilt and rotation functionality.

Seems Okay
I don’t have any experience with security cameras, as this is my first purchase. However, it seems okay. The night light that comes on when sensing movement is good. When I choose this product I thought given it moves and senses moving objects, that it would track them as well. Unfortunately it doesn’t. Retrospectively I think it would have been better to spend more and have this feature. Anyway, that being said, it seems to do the job adequately.

Great camera
This is our 2nd purchase of this camera which we set up at the end of our backyard, it works perfectly on the solar charge even in low sun days and connects to the wifi without any problems. The picture is clear and follows the subject- very happy with the camera.

8/10 - Colour night vision with spotlight support gives useful detail after dark for home monitoring.

8/10 - IP64 protection and an operating range of -10°C to 55°C suit typical outdoor home use.
Pet & package monitoring fit
8/10 - Wide coverage, motion tracking, and animal detection make it well suited to watching pets and monitoring deliveries.

9/10 - Battery-powered, self-install design with solar charging makes setup simpler than hardwired camera systems.
Key benefits
- Wire-Free Solar Power: Battery operation with a detachable solar panel makes it easier to place in areas where running power cables is inconvenient.
- Pan and Tilt Coverage: The 360° view helps monitor broad outdoor areas with fewer blind spots than a fixed-position camera.
- Auto Motion Tracking: The camera can follow moving people, vehicles, or animals across the scene for better incident visibility.
- Colour Night Vision: Spotlight-assisted colour night vision provides clearer after-dark detail than basic black-and-white night footage.
- Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6: Support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 6 gives more connection flexibility for live viewing and alerts.
- Two-Way Audio: Built-in two-way communication lets you speak to visitors or warn off unwanted activity remotely.
- Smart Assistant Support: Works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for convenient voice control and smart home use.
- Outdoor-Ready Design: IP64 weather resistance supports reliable use in exposed outdoor areas such as yards and entry points.
Q: Can this camera record without a separate NVR system
A: Yes. Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar records locally to a microSD card, so it can work as a standalone camera. External storage support is listed at 128GB, and the card is not included, so recording time depends on motion activity.
Q: Does it support Apple HomeKit or only Google and Alexa
A: No. Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, but Apple HomeKit support is not listed. Remote viewing and control are handled through the Reolink app on a compatible smartphone.
Q: Is this suitable for continuous outdoor recording every day
A: Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar is better suited to motion-based outdoor monitoring than uninterrupted wired-style recording. It runs on a rechargeable battery with solar charging, and battery life varies with settings, usage and temperature.
Q: Will the solar panel let you place the camera away from power
A: Yes. Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar is battery powered and charges from the included solar panel, so it suits spots where running mains power is inconvenient. It still needs usable sunlight and Wi-Fi coverage at the mounting point.
Q: How weatherproof is this camera for exposed outdoor areas
A: Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar has an IP64 rating, which suits typical outdoor home use in rain and dust. It is not designed for submersion or harsher specialist environments, so some shelter is sensible in very exposed positions.
Q: What does dual-band Wi-Fi 6 mean for this camera
A: Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 means Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar can connect on 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks, giving more placement flexibility at home. Live view and alerts still depend on signal strength where the camera is installed.
Q: Can it handle hot and cold outdoor conditions
A: Reolink Argus 4K PT Ultra Solar is rated to operate from -10 to 55 degrees Celsius, which suits typical outdoor home conditions. Battery performance can still vary with temperature, so extreme heat or cold may affect charging frequency.
