Impressed
Best fan I’ve bought in years. Affordably priced. Easy to put together. Easy to navigate settings and provides good coverage of coolness/air. Quieter than others I’ve previously had. I highly recommend this product.

At a glance
The Philips 1000 Series Pedestal Fan is a versatile pedestal fan for everyday home cooling, with strong airflow, quiet low-speed operation, oscillation, tilt adjustment and a timer for convenient use. It suits bedrooms, living areas and home offices that need flexible airflow and stable floor placement. A fair limitation is that it does not offer smart controls or premium airflow customisation.

Things to consider
This model focuses on dependable core cooling performance, but it lacks premium extras such as app control, remote operation, or a wider range of airflow modes.
Bedroom quietness score
8/10 - 38 dB(A) on the lowest setting is quiet enough for many bedrooms, though higher speeds will be more noticeable.
Room size suitability
Small to medium rooms
Portability rating
6/10 - easy to reposition around the home, but as a pedestal fan with an XL base it is less compact than a table fan.
Ease of assembly
8/10 - designed to be easy to set up and clean for straightforward everyday use.
Key benefits
- Powerful Airflow: Up to 3330 m³/h airflow helps move stale air quickly and provides fast, room-filling cooling.
- Quiet Low-Speed Operation: A 38 dB(A) noise level on the lowest setting makes it well suited to reading, working or sleeping.
- 3 Speed Settings: Three fan speeds make it easy to choose lighter airflow or stronger cooling depending on the weather.
- Oscillating Function: Automatic rotation helps spread airflow more evenly across the room instead of concentrating it in one spot.
- Tiltable Head: The adjustable head lets you direct airflow where it is needed most, whether seated, in bed or standing.
- Adjustable Height: Height adjustment helps tailor cooling comfort for different room layouts and user positions.
- Built-In Timer: The timer adds convenience by allowing automatic shut-off for cooling before sleep or while winding down.
- XL Base Stability: The extra-large base is designed to improve stability during everyday use on indoor floors.
Q: Is this fan strong enough for a large bedroom or living area
A: Yes. Philips CX1220/00 moves air at 3330 m³/h, which suits a large bedroom or a standard living area. It is designed to circulate air across the room, but it is not a replacement for refrigerated cooling in very large open spaces.
Q: How quiet is the Philips 1000 Series fan for sleeping
A: Philips CX1220/00 runs at 38 dB(A) on its lowest setting, so it is suited to overnight use in a bedroom. Noise will rise on higher speeds, so the quietest operation comes with lower airflow rather than maximum fan output.
Q: Can the airflow be aimed at one spot or shared around
A: Yes. The head tilts for more direct airflow, and oscillation spreads air across more of the room. Height adjustment also helps line the breeze up with a bed, desk or seating area instead of blowing at a fixed level.
Q: Does this pedestal fan have smart or app-based controls
A: No. Philips CX1220/00 uses physical controls and a built-in timer rather than Wi-Fi, app control or voice assistant support. It suits buyers who want straightforward operation, but not those wanting remote scheduling from a phone.
Q: What does the timer actually do on this fan
A: The timer lets Philips CX1220/00 switch off automatically after a set period, which is handy for overnight or unattended use. A timer duration is not listed, so it is better viewed as basic timed shut-off rather than precise scheduling.
Q: Will the base feel stable on carpet or hard floors
A: Philips CX1220/00 has an XL base that is designed to improve stability in everyday use. Like most pedestal fans, it can feel less settled if the floor is uneven or if it is bumped often, so a flat spot will give the best result.
