Works well
East tuning. The time display could be bigger and stay lit up while the device is on. The volume control squares have a large difference in sound - need to be a more gentle graduation.

At a glance
The Panasonic DAB+ FM Portable Radio is a simple, easy-to-carry home radio for listeners who want clear everyday access to digital and FM stations. It suits desks, kitchens, patios and short moves around the house, with direct tuning, presets and mains or battery power. Its main limitation is modest 2W output, so it is better for personal or small-room listening than filling larger spaces.

Things to consider
The 2W speaker output is practical for personal listening and smaller spaces, but it is less powerful than premium portable radios with fuller sound or advanced connectivity.
Emergency suitability
Moderate - battery operation and radio access are useful during short outages, but it is not a dedicated emergency radio with torch, USB charging or weather-specific features.
Portability rating
8/10 - 1 kg body and battery option make it easy to move around the home.
Ease of use score
9/10 - direct channel selection, auto tune and a large backlit display keep operation straightforward.
Battery endurance rating
6/10 - battery power adds flexibility, but no battery runtime figure is provided.
Reception quality score
8/10 - supports DAB+ on Band III and FM 87.5 to 108 MHz, giving solid everyday coverage where signal is available.
Key benefits
- DAB+ and FM Tuning: Gives you access to both digital and traditional radio stations for flexible listening.
- 10 cm Full-Range Speaker: Delivers clear, focused sound for news, talkback and everyday music listening.
- 2 W Audio Output: Provides enough volume for desks, bedrooms and other smaller household spaces.
- AC or 4 x C Battery Power: Lets you use the radio in fixed spots or carry it to different rooms without relying only on a power point.
- Direct Channel Selection: Makes changing stations quicker and simpler without complicated menu steps.
- 10 Station Presets: Saves favourite stations for faster daily access.
- Large Backlit LCD Display: Improves readability of station information in lower-light conditions.
- Play and Sleep Timers: Adds convenience for listening routines during the day or before bed.
Q: Can this radio run during a blackout on batteries?
A: Yes. Panasonic RF-D10GN-K can run from mains power or four C batteries, so it can still receive broadcasts during a blackout. It is designed for basic radio listening in an outage, not as a rechargeable emergency unit with device charging.
Q: Does it stream music from a phone over Bluetooth?
A: No. Panasonic RF-D10GN-K is a radio for DAB, DAB+ and FM listening, and it is not listed with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or app control. It suits straightforward radio use, but it will not stream music wirelessly from a phone or tablet.
Q: Is the speaker loud enough for a kitchen or patio?
A: Panasonic RF-D10GN-K has 2W output through a 10cm full-range speaker. That suits close-range listening on a desk, kitchen bench or small patio, but it is not designed to fill a large outdoor area or cover noisy gatherings.
Q: How many stations can I save as presets?
A: Panasonic RF-D10GN-K stores 10 presets, so favourite stations are quicker to reach than scanning each time. It also has direct channel selection and FM auto tune, but presets only save radio stations, not playlists or audio files.
Q: Will it pick up both digital and FM stations?
A: Yes. Panasonic RF-D10GN-K receives DAB+ on Band III 5A-13F and FM from 87.5 to 108MHz. That covers digital services where DAB+ is available and keeps FM as the fallback for areas or stations that are not on digital radio.
Q: Does this portable radio have a bedside alarm clock?
A: No. RF-D10GN-K includes play and sleep timer functions, but it is not listed as having an alarm clock. It suits bedside or desk listening if you want simple radio playback, though it is not designed to wake you at a set time.
