Perfect for the Queensland heat
This unit is fantastic. Small yet cools down a 4x4 room in no time. It is a little loud , but all these portable units are. Perfect for renters as you just butt the pipe up to your windows and secure the window cover in place. No damage at all to the property

Cools very well
I was impressed by how well the air conditioner cools my unit. However I found that the occilation panel button on the air conditioner doesn't work. I can operate the panel via the remote so I am not concerned. Overall the air conditioner works well. Thanks 👍

Incredibly noisy
Unfortunately most portable AC units were out of stock at the time we visited the store and regrettably we purchased this Olimpia unit. It is EXTREMELY loud and kicks in and out as it reaches the desired temperature making it near impossible to sleep. I would not recommend this appliance to anyone.

Does an excellent job at cooling the lounge room, would be even better in a smaller room

Excellent performance
We are using large open-plan space, and it still does a good job of keeping the area cool. The cooling power is impressive for a portable unit, and it noticeably lowers the temperature even when the space isn’t fully enclosed. The only downside is that the exhaust duct is a bit short, which can make positioning slightly inconvenient. It’s also a little noisy, especially when running at higher settings, but that’s fairly typical for a portable air conditioner of this size. Overall we are satisfied with the purchase

At a glance
The Olimpia Splendid 4.7kW Portable Air Conditioner is a strong portable cooling option for homes needing coverage in rooms up to 30 m2, such as larger bedrooms or living spaces. It offers flexible comfort with three fan speeds, Sleep and Eco modes, dehumidifying and a 24 hour timer. It suits households wanting convenient portable cooling, but at 65 dB it is better for shared living areas than very quiet sleeping environments.

Things to consider
At 65 dB, it is louder than quieter premium portable air conditioners, so it may be less suitable if low-noise overnight use is your top priority.
Room size suitability
Best suited to rooms up to 30 m2, including larger bedrooms and living areas
Portability rating
7/10 - portable format gives flexible placement, though units in this class are typically better moved occasionally than frequently

Energy efficiency score
6/10 - inverter compressor and Eco mode are positives, but no Australian star rating is provided

- Eco Mode: Provides an alternative operating mode for lighter cooling needs.

Q: Does this portable air conditioner need to be vented through a window
A: Yes. This portable air conditioner needs the exhaust hose vented out of a window or similar opening to remove hot air. It is portable between rooms, but it still needs that venting setup each time you move it.
Q: Is the PROCOOL16E quiet enough for a bedroom at night
A: Not for every bedroom. PROCOOL16E runs at 65 dBA, so the sound is noticeable, especially for light sleepers. It is generally a better fit for living areas or bedrooms where noise is less of a concern.
Q: Can it cool an open-plan living area effectively
A: Yes, if the space is within the recommended 30m2 room size. In a larger or very open area, cooling will feel less concentrated because portable units work best when the space can be contained and the warm air is vented out.
Q: Does the dehumidifying mode replace a separate dehumidifier
A: No. The dehumidifying function helps reduce indoor moisture while the unit is cooling, but it is still primarily a portable air conditioner. If moisture control is the main goal, a dedicated dehumidifier is usually the more targeted choice.
Q: Can I control this air conditioner from my phone
A: No. This model is not Wi-Fi enabled, so control is handled from the included remote or the buttons on the unit. That suits straightforward in-room use, but there is no app control or off-site access.
