Olimpia 3.5
This unit cools my medium sized bedroom. The window fitting is thin so it doesn't cover up a lot of window viewing space. But was too short for my window. Is flimsy after many attempts of it falling out I had to reinforce it with thick cardboard and foam pieces. I got glue gunned it into the area and then covered it with wall paper. I also needed to glue around the hose connection area. I also had to buy some window seal tape and align it onto my window for the gaps. The hose pipe becomes warm to touch , ended up buying a hose blanket from Temu I think at over $900 I paid to much. But it is doing the job and have had peaceful sleep and that is what it is all about. So it works. Not overly noisy as it is right next to my bed.

Things to consider
At 65 dB, it is louder than some premium portable and split-system alternatives, and it still needs a suitable window for exhaust venting in each room.
Room size suitability
Small to medium rooms (15-25 m²)
Portability rating
8/10 - easy to move between rooms, but each space needs a suitable window for exhaust venting.
Noise level vs category average
4/10 - 65 dB is on the louder side for a portable air conditioner and will be noticeable in quieter rooms.
Energy efficiency score
5/10 - no Australian star rating is provided, so efficiency appears standard rather than standout for this category.
Ease of installation
7/10 - straightforward setup with the included window kit, though proper venting and a suitable window are still required.
Key benefits
- 3.5kW Cooling Capacity: Provides effective cooling for small to medium rooms between 15 and 25 m².
- Portable Design: Lets you move the unit between rooms as needed, provided each room has a suitable exhaust window setup.
- Window Kit Included: Helps vent hot air outdoors for proper portable air conditioner operation.
- Touch Controls: Makes day-to-day adjustment straightforward directly from the unit.
- Remote Control: Allows convenient setting changes from across the room.
- 24-Hour Timer: Lets you schedule cooling cycles to better match your daily routine.
- Washable Filter: Supports simple ongoing maintenance without needing frequent replacement filters.
- 3 Year Manufacturer's Warranty: Adds reassurance for longer-term ownership.
Q: Does the window kit fit every type of window?
A: No. The included kit is intended for rooms where the exhaust hose can vent outdoors, but window compatibility depends on the opening style and how well it can be sealed. Some windows may need extra support or sealing for a secure fit.
Q: Is 65dB quiet enough for a bedroom at night?
A: Olimpia Splendid ELITE12 runs at 65dB, so the sound is noticeable in a quiet bedroom, especially overnight. Many buyers will find it manageable, but if low noise is the priority, a quieter portable model may suit better.
Q: Can I move it between rooms during the day?
A: Yes. The portable design makes room-to-room use practical, but each room needs a suitable window for the exhaust setup. Moving it is simplest when the next room can use the included venting kit without extra sealing work.
Q: Will it cool an open-plan living area effectively?
A: No. ELITE12 is best matched to enclosed small to medium rooms, with cooling suitability listed at 15 to 25 square metres. In a larger or open-plan area, cooling will feel less focused and may not reach the whole space evenly.
Q: Does ELITE12 have a heating mode for winter use?
A: No. ELITE12 is listed as a cooling portable air conditioner with fan-speed, timer and remote-control functions. A heating mode is not listed for this model, so it is better suited to seasonal cooling than all-year temperature control.
