At a glance
The Loewe KLANG S3 is a premium smart radio for listeners who want radio, Bluetooth streaming and CD playback in one compact tabletop unit. It suits bedrooms, studies and small living areas, with strong 120W sound, app control and a dimmable display. Its main limitation is that it is designed for fixed indoor use rather than portable listening.

8/10 - straightforward controls, app support and a clear display make daily use simple.

3/10 - designed as a fixed tabletop unit, with no battery or backup power details provided.
Key benefits
- 120W audio output: Delivers room-filling sound with enough power for bedrooms, studies and small living spaces.
- Bass reflex speakers: Helps produce fuller, weightier sound for music and radio playback.
- Internet and local radio reception: Gives you access to a wider choice of stations beyond standard local broadcasts.
- Bluetooth 4.2 streaming: Lets you play audio wirelessly from compatible phones and tablets.
- Built-in Spotify access: Makes it easy to listen to familiar playlists and music without extra hardware.
- Integrated CD playback: Adds another listening option for users with existing disc collections.
- Dimmable 3.2 inch display: Keeps information easy to read while reducing glare in darker rooms.
- App and onboard controls: Offers convenient control whether you are next to the unit or across the room.
Q: Is this smart radio suitable for a large open-plan room?
A: No. The Loewe KLANG S3 is better suited to bedrooms, studies and small living areas than a large open-plan space. Its 120W output gives it solid tabletop sound, but it is positioned for smaller home listening zones.
Q: Can I use the Loewe KLANG S3 without the app?
A: Yes. The Loewe KLANG S3 can be controlled directly on the unit using its display and onboard controls, so the app is optional rather than required. That suits buyers who want a fixed tabletop radio without relying on a phone every time.
Q: Will it fit on a bedside table or shelf?
A: Yes, in many cases. The Loewe KLANG S3 measures 160mm high, 460mm wide and 90mm deep, so it suits a shelf, side table or wider bedside surface. It is slimmer than many mini systems, but wider than a basic bedside clock radio.
Q: Does this Loewe radio work as a portable room-to-room speaker?
A: No. The Loewe KLANG S3 is designed as a fixed tabletop unit for home use rather than portable listening around the house. It makes more sense in a set position such as a bedroom, study or small living area.
Q: Can I play CDs as well as radio and Spotify?
A: Yes. This model combines CD playback with internet radio, local radio, Bluetooth streaming and built-in Spotify, so it covers both discs and newer listening options. That makes it useful if part of your music library is still on CD.
Q: Is the display suitable for bedroom use at night?
A: Yes. The Loewe KLANG S3 has a 3.2 inch dimmable display, so the screen brightness can be reduced for bedroom use after dark. It is still a larger unit than a basic bedside clock radio, so bench space matters as well.
