At a glance
The Loewe klang bar5 mr with included subwoofer is a premium home theatre soundbar system for households wanting fuller, more cinematic sound for movies, TV and music. Its key strengths are immersive 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos audio, strong bass, broad TV compatibility and easy access to popular streaming services. One limitation is its 131 cm width, which can be less practical for smaller TV units or compact rooms.

Things to consider
Its 131 cm-wide soundbar and separate subwoofer suit larger spaces better than compact setups, so smaller rooms or narrow TV cabinets may find it less practical than slimmer all-in-one soundbars.
Tv compatibility score
9/10 - works especially well with Loewe TVs and also suits many other models that support HDMI ARC or eARC.
Movie night suitability
9/10 - Dolby Atmos processing and the included subwoofer make it a strong choice for cinematic sound in larger rooms.
Music playback quality
8/10 - wide streaming support and deep bass make it enjoyable for everyday music listening as well as TV use.
Room size suitability
Best for medium to large living rooms and home entertainment spaces.
Installation ease
8/10 - straightforward TV connection through HDMI ARC or eARC, with flexible subwoofer placement, though the large soundbar needs adequate cabinet space.
Key benefits
- 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos Audio: creates a more immersive surround effect for movies, sport and TV than standard built-in television speakers.
- Included Subwoofer: adds deeper bass impact for action scenes, music and fuller overall sound.
- Flexible Subwoofer Placement: the separate subwoofer can be positioned anywhere in the same room to better suit your furniture layout.
- HDMI ARC and eARC Support: connects with Loewe TVs and many other compatible televisions for simpler home setup.
- Native Music Apps: gives direct access to Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music and internet radio without needing extra audio hardware.
- Dialogue and Effects Clarity: helps voices sound clearer and makes on-screen effects more distinct than standard TV audio.
- Multiroom Expansion Support: can be expanded with compatible Loewe klang mr speakers for a broader connected-audio setup.
- Premium Material Finish: stainless steel construction and a clean grey design help the system blend into modern interiors.
Q: Does this soundbar need HDMI eARC to get Dolby Atmos sound?
A: No. The Loewe klang bar5 mr works with TVs that support HDMI ARC or eARC. eARC is the better fit when the TV supports it, but ARC compatibility means it can also suit many older TVs without changing the whole setup.
Q: Is the Loewe klang bar5 mr too wide for smaller TV units?
A: Possibly. The soundbar is 131cm wide, so it suits larger TV cabinets and wider screens better than compact furniture. In a smaller room or on a narrow unit, the size can feel dominant even if the TV connection is compatible.
Q: Can the included subwoofer go anywhere or stay beside the soundbar?
A: The included subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the same room, which helps when the TV unit has limited space. It is still a separate box to accommodate in the layout, so this set is less tidy than a one-piece soundbar.
Q: Does it stream music directly without adding another media player?
A: Yes. The Loewe klang bar5 mr has native apps for Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music and internet radio. It also supports Google Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2, so compatible devices can cast music straight to the system.
Q: Can you add extra Loewe speakers later for multiroom audio?
A: Yes. The system can be expanded through the Loewe Multiroom platform with compatible Loewe klang mr speakers. The box includes the soundbar and subwoofer, so extra speakers are an add-on rather than part of the base set.
Q: How powerful is the Loewe klang bar5 mr with subwoofer?
A: Loewe klang bar5 mr and klang sub5 have a total music output of 800 watts. That level suits medium to large rooms more naturally than compact spaces, where the physical size may be a bigger consideration than outright power.
