Q: Is this filter for LG fridges with an internal water filter?
A: No. FSS-002 suits compatible LG side-by-side fridges that use an external inline filter setup. It is the right type for models with the filter mounted outside the cabinet, not for fridges that use an internal filter housing.
Q: Which LG fridge models does the FSS-002 fit exactly?
A: LG FSS-002 fits GR-D257SL, GS-D665BSL, GS-D665PL, GS-L668PL, GS-V665MBL, GS-V635MBLC, GS-V635PLC, GS-D635MBLC, GS-D635PLC, GS-L635MBL, GS-L635PL and GS-L635PLF. The fridge code needs to match exactly.
Q: What won't this LG fridge filter remove from water?
A: LG FSS-002 is designed for routine taste and clarity improvement in compatible fridges. It is not positioned as an advanced treatment filter for heavy metals or specialised water issues, so it should not replace a dedicated under-sink system.
Q: Can I use this on another LG side-by-side fridge?
A: Only if the exact fridge model is on the compatibility list. A side-by-side layout on its own is not enough, because LG uses different filter arrangements across models and this cartridge is made for external filter setups, not internal housings.
Q: Is this a genuine LG part or a universal filter?
A: Yes. FSS-002 is a genuine LG replacement filter made for compatible LG side-by-side refrigerators with an external inline setup. It is not a universal cartridge, so correct fit and sealing depend on an exact model match rather than similar size.
Q: Will this suit a tight space behind the fridge?
A: Yes. This filter is intended for external mounting behind or beside a compatible LG side-by-side fridge, so it suits installations where the cartridge sits outside the cabinet. Leave enough access around it for a straightforward filter change.
