Excellent cooktop, great price at Good Guys

Very good product with many useful features. Got item on sale for a great price at Good Guys. Be aware when purchasing induction cook-tops, and moving away from gas to going electrical in general, that your electricity meter box may need an upgrade. This can be vary costly. I recommend getting advice from an electrician about the power these units will draw when installed.

At a glance

This 60 cm LG induction cooktop suits households wanting fast, precise electric cooking without taking up much bench space. Its standout strengths are the flexible zone, easy-clean glass surface, 15 power levels, and Wi-Fi hood pairing. It is best for small to medium cooking loads, but with only 3 zones it is less suited to larger households than wider 4-zone premium models.

Things to consider

With 3 cooking zones, it offers less simultaneous cooking capacity than larger 4-zone or 5-zone cooktops aimed at bigger households or frequent entertainers.

Family cooking suitability

Best for couples and small families; suitable for everyday meals, but less ideal for high-volume cooking across many dishes at once.

Energy efficiency score

8/10 - induction cooking delivers heat directly to cookware, helping reduce wasted heat compared with many traditional electric cooktops.

Cookware compatibility assessment

Requires induction-compatible cookware; well suited to homes already using magnetic-base pots and pans.

Safety rating

8/10 - strong everyday safety coverage with child lock, residual heat indication, and automatic safety turn-off.

Ease of cleaning

9/10 - the flat glass ceramic surface is simple to wipe down and has fewer hard-to-clean areas than gas cooktops.

Key benefits

  • 3 Cooking Zones: Lets you prepare multiple dishes at once while fitting comfortably into a 60 cm kitchen layout.
  • Flexi Zone: Gives you more freedom to use larger cookware or a grill plate when a standard single zone is too limiting.
  • 15 Power Levels: Supports more precise heat adjustment for simmering, boiling, and controlled cooking.
  • Touch and Slide Controls: Makes it quicker to adjust settings with simple fingertip operation.
  • Glass Ceramic Surface: Provides a smooth cooking area that is easier to wipe clean after daily use.
  • ThinQ Wi-Fi Connectivity: Allows cooktop monitoring and compatible hood pairing for more connected kitchen control.
  • 99-Minute Cook Timer: Helps manage cooking times more accurately for better meal timing.
  • Safety Functions: Residual heat indicator, child lock, and automatic safety turn-off add reassurance in busy households.

Q: Do I need new cookware for this LG induction cooktop?

A: Maybe. LG BCI607T3BG needs induction-compatible cookware, so pans with a magnetic base will work and non-compatible cookware will not heat. If you are changing from gas or ceramic, some existing pots may need replacing.

Q: Will three cooking zones be enough for family meal prep?

A: It suits everyday cooking for singles, couples, and many small households. The trade-off is capacity. With 3 zones, LG BCI607T3BG gives less simultaneous cooking space than larger cooktops, so busy multi-pot meals can feel tighter.

Q: Can the Flexi zone take a grill plate or larger pans?

A: Yes. The Flexi zone is designed for cookware that does not sit as neatly on a single fixed zone, including larger pans or a grill plate. The limit is that there is only 1 Flexi area, so not every oversized piece can be used at once.

Q: Does this cooktop need electrical work before installation?

A: Yes. LG BCI607T3BG requires professional installation because it is an electric induction cooktop. If you are moving from gas or an older cooktop, the circuit and switchboard capacity should be discussed with your electrician before purchase.

Q: Can hood pairing work with any rangehood over the cooktop?

A: No. The ThinQ feature supports hood pairing for linked ventilation control, but that should not be assumed to work with every rangehood. This function depends on a compatible connected hood rather than any standard ducted or recirculating model.

Q: Can I still cook normally if Wi-Fi is turned off?

A: Yes. Cooking functions are controlled on the cooktop through the touch and slide controls, so daily use does not depend on Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi mainly affects connected features such as monitoring and hood pairing, not the basic heating zones.
