I like the extra power and capacity for memory. I don’t like that I can’t get affordable coverage for insurance through good guys anymore, so went through Lenovo which is a little bit of extra security considering the cost

Lenovo legion 5i i7 laptop purchasing was easy on line. pick up was interesting at Cockburn Good Guys, as I had to go where trucks are loading/off loading. But all went well on pick up. Laptop is performing well from start to present time.

The Lenovo Legion 5i 15.3-inch is a capable mid-range gaming laptop for students and gamers who want solid performance for classes, streaming, and modern games in one machine. Its strengths are balanced gaming power, useful ports, and ample everyday storage. The main limitation is that its display and overall gaming headroom are not as advanced as premium higher-resolution or higher-tier GPU models.
It is a strong all-rounder, but buyers wanting the best visual sharpness, OLED contrast, or more demanding high-refresh AAA performance may prefer a higher-tier Legion model with a faster GPU and higher-resolution display.
8/10 - Well suited to modern AAA games at mainstream settings, though premium GPU models offer more headroom for higher settings and longer-term performance.
6.5/10 - Portable enough for campus or room-to-room use, but still better treated as a performance laptop than an ultra-light travel machine.
8.5/10 - A strong fit for competitive games, with hardware capable of responsive play for popular esports titles.
Good for student-level editing, design work, and general creative projects, but not the best choice for users who need a top-tier colour-focused display or workstation-class performance.
7.5/10 - Expected to be competitive for a mid-range gaming laptop, supporting sustained gaming better than standard notebooks, though not as robust as larger premium performance models.
A: This 15.3-inch IPS screen leans more toward practical gaming performance than premium visual detail. WUXGA resolution is clear for everyday play and study, but buyers chasing a higher-resolution or OLED panel may want to look further up the range.
A: Yes. Lenovo Legion 5i includes HDMI 2.1 plus USB-C, so it suits a monitor-based study or gaming setup with room for wired accessories as well. It is better matched to external displays than slim laptops with fewer ports.
A: Yes. The 16GB memory suits gaming, coursework, web tabs and everyday multitasking on one machine. It is a sensible baseline for this class, though heavier editing workloads and more demanding creative software can benefit from higher memory capacity.
A: Lenovo Legion 5i has 1TB of SSD storage, which gives most buyers room for a solid mix of games, apps and study files. Large modern games can still fill space quickly, so heavy downloaders may need to manage their library more actively.
A: The E-shutter is a physical privacy cover for the HD webcam. It blocks the camera when closed, which is useful if the laptop is used for classes, calls or streaming, but it does not change video quality when the shutter is open.
A: Ethernet gives Lenovo Legion 5i a direct wired network option for a fixed desk setup. That can be useful where Wi-Fi is crowded or inconsistent, while Wi-Fi 6 still covers everyday portable use around campus, home or shared accommodation.
