Great large monitor
I was using a 24 inch monitor as my second screen but was finding that very small. I wanted to upgrade to a bigger monitor when I got a great deal from the good guys. Applying 90 day store credit and vouchers got me this great monitor at a great price. Fully satisfied.

Great value & features
Excellent value for a large screen monitor. The Full HD display is clear and vibrant, the screen size is great for productivity and everyday use, and the monitor looks sleek and modern. It lacks vertical height adjustment

At a glance
The Lenovo D32-40 is a large 31.5-inch monitor built for home offices, study spaces and general desktop use. It offers a roomy screen, strong VA contrast, simple tilt adjustment and useful ports for everyday setups, with AMD FreeSync support for casual gaming. Its main limitation is that Full HD on a screen this size is less sharp than QHD or 4K alternatives.

Things to consider
The large 31.5-inch screen gives you more workspace, but Full HD resolution is not as crisp as QHD or 4K options, especially if you sit close or do detailed design work.
Gaming suitability score
6/10 - suitable for casual gaming thanks to AMD FreeSync and a large screen, but it is not positioned as a high-performance gaming monitor.
Home office fit
8/10 - large screen space, practical tilt adjustment and straightforward connectivity make it a strong home office option.
Colour accuracy rating
6/10 - good contrast from the VA panel, but it is better suited to general use than colour-critical creative work.
Multi-monitor setup compatibility
Best used as a primary large-screen monitor; its 31.5-inch size is less practical for compact multi-monitor desks.
Eye comfort score
7/10 - the tilt-adjustable stand helps improve viewing comfort, though no advanced eye-care features are specified.
Key benefits
- 31.5-inch screen: gives you a larger viewing area for spreadsheets, documents and side-by-side windows.
- 16:9 aspect ratio: fits common work tasks, video content and general desktop use without awkward scaling.
- Tilt-adjustable stand: lets you angle the screen from -5° to 22° for a more comfortable viewing position.
- VA panel: delivers deeper blacks and stronger contrast for clearer everyday viewing.
- 3000:1 contrast ratio: helps text and on-screen content look more defined in normal office and home use.
- 250 nits brightness: provides enough brightness for typical indoor work and study environments.
- AMD FreeSync support: helps reduce screen tearing for smoother casual gaming and video playback.
- HDMI, DisplayPort and 3.5 mm audio out: makes it easy to connect modern devices and route sound to headphones or external speakers.
Q: Is Full HD sharp enough on this 31.5-inch monitor?
A: Lenovo D32-40 is fine for general work, study and video on a large desk, but Full HD is stretched across a 31.5-inch panel. Text and fine detail will look less crisp than on a higher-resolution screen, especially if you sit close.
Q: Is this a good monitor for photo editing or design?
A: Lenovo D32-40 is better suited to office work, study and general media than colour-critical creative work. Its VA panel gives strong contrast, but the large Full HD screen will not look as crisp for detailed design, retouching or fine interface work.
Q: Will it work with a laptop or Mac over HDMI?
A: Yes, if your computer can output over HDMI 1.4 or DisplayPort 1.2. Basic display connection is straightforward, but a laptop with only USB-C will need a compatible adapter or dock because the monitor’s video inputs are HDMI and DisplayPort.
Q: Can this monitor handle casual gaming without obvious screen tearing?
A: Yes. Lenovo D32-40 supports AMD FreeSync, which helps reduce tearing in lighter gaming and everyday motion. It suits casual play better than fast competitive gaming, where buyers usually look for a higher refresh rate and sharper motion.
Q: How adjustable is the stand for different desk setups?
A: The documented stand adjustment is tilt, from -5 degrees to 22 degrees. That helps with glare and small seating changes, but buyers wanting height, swivel or portrait positioning may prefer a monitor with a more adjustable stand.
Q: Does it have an audio connection for headphones or speakers?
A: Yes. Lenovo D32-40 includes a 3.5 mm audio out, so headphones or external speakers can connect through the monitor. That is useful when video comes in over HDMI or DisplayPort, but sound still plays through separate speakers or headphones.
