Surprisingly good for the price
Bought this for kids movie nights and it’s been a hit. Brighter than similar models and does well in a dark room. Speaker quality is average. Connects easily to Bluetooth speakers though and has wifi and remote. Comes with a very large cloth projector screen and adhesive hooks to put it on a wall. Decent smart tv functions with some limitations eg doesn’t do ABC iview.

Excellent projector
I was looking for a 1080P projector for my bedroom. So that it can be hanged on wall or ceiling. And it's really good for that. I projected it from one wall to another wall around 3.5m. Other features are also great. I mean self focusing and video quality. I'll recommend this projector if someone is looking for long projection.

It suits families, renters and anyone wanting an easy setup with built-in apps, auto focus and a bundled 120 inch screen. Key strengths are portability, simple streaming and flexible connectivity. Things to consider
With 450 ANSI lumens, it is better for dim or controlled-light viewing and is less suited to bright daytime rooms than higher-brightness premium projectors.
Home cinema suitability score
7/10 - Good for casual home cinema in dim rooms with Full HD detail and up to 150 inch projection, but brightness is below premium dedicated theatre models.
Room size compatibility
Best for small to medium rooms and controlled-light spaces; can also suit outdoor evening use with appropriate darkness.
Gaming suitability
5/10 - Fine for casual console gaming on a big screen, but not positioned as a specialist gaming projector with high refresh or low-latency claims.
Ease of setup rating
8/10 - Auto focus, digital keystone correction and the included 120 inch cloth screen make setup straightforward for most users.
Noise level vs category
Typical for a portable value projector; no low-noise claim is specified.
Key benefits
- Portable Design: The 0.95 kg build is easy to move between rooms or take outside for gatherings.
- Auto Focus: Helps you get a sharp picture faster with less manual adjustment.
- Built-In Smart Platform: AOSP Android 13 lets you stream apps directly without always needing a separate media device.
- Full HD Projection: 1920 x 1080 resolution delivers clear detail for movies, shows and everyday viewing.
- Large Screen Capability: Projects up to 150 inches for a more immersive viewing experience than a typical TV.
- Digital Keystone Correction: Makes it easier to straighten the image when placement is not perfectly centred.
- Flexible Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 2.4G, HDMI, USB-A and 3.5 mm audio support a wide range of speakers, headphones and source devices.
- Long Light Life: The rated 30,000 hour bulb life supports extended use before replacement is likely to be needed.
Q: Can this projector handle daytime viewing in a bright room?
A: No. Laser PJ-AF450B-028 is rated at 450 ANSI lumens, so it is best used in dim or controlled lighting. It can look washed out in bright daytime rooms, especially at larger image sizes, where ambient light reduces contrast and colour depth.
Q: How far back do I need to place it?
A: Laser PJ-AF450B-028 has a minimum throw distance of 1.2m and a 1.3:1 throw ratio. That suits coffee-table or shelf placement rather than ultra-short placement right near the wall, so leave enough room in front of the screen.
Q: Does it need a separate streaming device to watch apps?
A: No. This projector runs AOSP Android 13, so apps can be streamed directly over Wi-Fi 2.4G without always adding a media box. App availability can vary by service, so some buyers still prefer HDMI for a separate streamer.
Q: Can I use Bluetooth speakers or headphones with this projector?
A: Yes. Laser PJ-AF450B-028 supports Bluetooth and also has a 3.5mm earphone jack for wired listening. That gives you an easy upgrade from the built-in 5W speaker if you want fuller sound for movies or quieter late-night viewing.
Q: Can I connect a console or laptop by HDMI?
A: Yes. Laser PJ-AF450B-028 has an HDMI input, so a console, laptop or media player can be connected directly. It is positioned for casual big-screen viewing rather than low-latency competitive play, so gaming expectations should stay moderate.
Q: Is the included 120 inch screen required for a clear picture?
A: No. The projector can also be used on a flat wall, and the box includes a 120 inch cloth screen for a more uniform surface. A smoother, darker room setup usually gives a cleaner result than a textured wall or a bright room.
