Q: Can these kitchen scissors cut through raw chicken and meat prep jobs
A: Yes. These scissors are suitable for trimming meat and cutting through chicken pieces during everyday food prep. They are not a substitute for heavy-duty poultry shears or bone-cutting tools, so avoid forcing them through thick bones.
Q: Is the thumb grip useful for tougher packaging and thicker ingredients
A: Yes. The integrated thumb grip lets you add extra hand pressure for more control when cutting tougher packaging or thicker food items. It helps with leverage, but it does not turn the scissors into a heavy-duty tool for very hard materials.
Q: Do the serrated blades help with slippery food and plastic packaging
A: Yes. The serrated edge is designed to grip slippery surfaces, which helps when cutting herbs, food packaging and similar prep items. It is aimed at everyday kitchen jobs rather than delicate knife-style precision work.
Q: How does the herb stripper work on leafy stems and herbs
A: The built-in herb stripper removes leaves from stems before chopping, which is useful for herbs such as parsley, thyme and similar varieties. It is designed for stripping rather than fine cutting, so detailed prep may still suit a knife better.
Q: What is the blade notch for on these Joseph Joseph scissors
A: The blade notch helps grip round or awkward items for a steadier cut, such as flower stems and similar narrow pieces. It is a control feature for kitchen prep, not a dedicated cracking or heavy bone-cutting function.
