Great ear phones
this will be my second set of JBLs, my last ones were awesome however the battery life in them eventually meant they didnt last long enough any more to be useful. I have taken out extended warranty to ensure I am coverered in case these have a reduced life. Sound is amazing, i use them as sound block out when using the mower and its perfect for that.

Comfortable and feature rich ear buds.
Easy to change Noise cancellation and sound controls. Fits comfortably in ears. I prefer this over jbl live flex model. Connects to android phone and macbook at same time. Shifts to calls instantly on android from mac. Issue is when i pair it with third device, it starts misbehaving with first two devices as well. So i started using only two devices for now. The box is heavier than old gen box due to touch screen. Not sure if there will be any touch screen issues in future. To be on safe side, i took the Gold Service Extras warranty. Liking this so far..

At a glance
The JBL Live Beam 3 are premium true wireless earbuds built for commuters, frequent callers, and everyday listeners who want strong noise cancelling and easy control from the smart case. Key strengths include immersive sound, clear calls, and long battery life with wireless charging. One limitation is that the feature-rich case may be more than some users need if they prefer a simpler earbuds experience.

Things to consider

Commuter suitability score
9/10 - strong noise cancelling, clear calls, and long battery life make them very well suited to daily travel.
Workout fit
Good for light to moderate workouts, though fit preference will vary by ear shape.
Noise isolation effectiveness
9/10 - adaptive noise cancelling is a major strength for trains, offices, and other noisy settings.
All-day comfort rating
8/10 - compact true wireless design supports extended listening, though comfort will still depend on ear fit.
Multi-device switching ease
7/10 - the smart case and app-based controls improve convenience, but seamless switching details are not clearly specified.
Key benefits
- Adaptive Noise Cancelling: Helps reduce surrounding distractions so you can focus better on music, podcasts, or calls in busy environments.
- Smart Charging Case: Lets you adjust volume, EQ, music controls, and calls directly from the case without opening the app.
- JBL Spatial Sound: Makes movies and music feel more immersive with a wider, more spacious presentation.
- 6 Microphones: Supports clearer voice pickup for calls, even when background noise is present.
- Long Battery Life: Provides up to 12 hours in the earbuds and up to 48 hours total with the case for fewer recharges.
- Wireless Charging: Makes top-ups more convenient by allowing cable-free charging of the case.
- Closed-Stick Earbud Design: Offers a secure in-ear feel that suits everyday listening and commuting.
- Customisable Case Screen: Lets you personalise the screensaver with favourite photos for a more tailored user experience.
Q: Are the JBL Live Beam 3 earbuds suitable for the gym or light rain?
A: Yes. The earbuds are rated IP55, which means they can handle sweat, dust and light rain during workouts or commuting. The charging case is not covered by that rating, so it should be kept dry and stored away from wet gear.
Q: How long does the battery last in everyday use on the JBL Live Beam 3?
A: JBL lists 12 hours in the earbuds and another 36 hours from the case, for 48 hours total. In real use, battery life is usually lower when Adaptive Noise Cancelling, Spatial Sound or frequent voice calls are used for longer periods.
Q: Are the JBL Live Beam 3 good for phone calls in noisy places?
A: Yes. The six-mic system is designed to keep voices clearer during calls in busy streets, offices or public transport. It can still be affected by strong wind or a poor mobile signal, so call quality will vary with the environment.
Q: What can the Smart Charging Case do without opening the JBL app?
A: It can handle everyday controls such as volume, EQ changes, music playback, calls and message viewing directly from the case screen. Initial Bluetooth pairing and some deeper custom settings may still be easier to manage from the phone itself.
Q: Does JBL Spatial Sound make the Live Beam 3 better for movies as well as music?
A: Yes. JBL Spatial Sound is designed to make audio feel wider and more immersive, which can suit films, live recordings and gaming clips. It is still a stereo earbud effect rather than full multi-speaker surround, so results vary by content.
