Fantastic Sound
Great sound, very easy to set up and use. May be smaller than the JBL 500 but the sound is still loud and clear. Handle is handy to move around the house or take outside and enjoy your music. Bluetooth is simple to use all your music through. Recomend if you like quality and great sound.

AWESOME SOUND
Love JBL products. Have 2 of the 500 speakers in the main room, and wanted something similar in the bedroom. The 300 speaker is the perfect size. Also being rechargeable and having a handle. It will be very handy when it gets warmer, as you can take it outside with you. The sound is exceptional, as all JBL products. Really easy to bluetooth to all my devises. Recomend if you love quality sound and quality.

At a glance
The JBL Authentics 300 Wifi Speaker is a portable smart speaker for households that want strong sound, flexible placement and easy voice control. It suits people moving music between rooms or out to a patio, with WiFi, Bluetooth and up to 8 hours of battery life. Its biggest strengths are convenience and room-filling audio, but it is less suited to very long unplugged listening than longer-battery portable alternatives.

Things to consider
Up to 8 hours of battery life is convenient for moving around the home, but it is shorter than some portable speaker alternatives built for all-day outdoor use.
Multi-room flexibility
8/10 - Portable build and WiFi streaming make it easy to use across different spaces in the home.
Portability rating
8/10 - Built for room-to-room use with a carry handle and battery power, though it is more home-portable than travel-focused.
Music quality score
8/10 - 100W output supports rich, room-filling sound suited to everyday listening and entertaining.
Smart home compatibility
Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa
Outdoor suitability
7/10 - Handy for patios and temporary outdoor use, but its battery life is better suited to shorter sessions than extended outdoor days.
Key benefits
- WiFi Streaming: Supports stable wireless music playback around the home without relying only on Bluetooth range.
- Bluetooth Connectivity: Makes it easy to quickly play music from phones, tablets and other compatible devices.
- Portable Design: Easy to move between rooms or take to a patio for more flexible listening.
- Cast Aluminium Handle: Gives you a sturdy built-in way to carry the speaker around the home.
- 100W Total Output: Delivers strong, room-filling sound for everyday listening and casual gatherings.
- Dual Voice Assistants: Works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa simultaneously for hands-free music and smart home control.
- Up to 8 Hours Battery Life: Lets you listen unplugged for shorter day-to-evening sessions without needing constant charging.
- JBL One App: Allows you to tailor sound settings and manage playback to suit your preferences.
Q: Is the JBL Authentics 300 weatherproof enough for regular patio use
A: No. JBL Authentics 300 is suitable for patios and short outdoor listening, but it is not weatherproof. It should be kept out of rain, splashes and long exposed outdoor sessions, then brought back inside after use.
Q: Can it stream over WiFi without keeping your phone nearby
A: Yes. JBL Authentics 300 can stream over WiFi, so music does not need to come from a phone sitting beside the speaker. Bluetooth is still there for quick pairing, but WiFi suits home listening where range and convenience matter more.
Q: Does the Authentics 300 need mains power for WiFi playback
A: No. JBL Authentics 300 has a built-in battery, so WiFi playback is not tied to a power point. Battery use is rated for up to 8 hours on a single charge, so longer sessions or all-day use will still need recharging.
Q: Will both Alexa and Google Assistant work on this speaker
A: Yes. JBL Authentics 300 supports both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant at the same time, which suits homes using different voice platforms. Setup and custom settings are handled through the JBL One app rather than the speaker alone.
Q: How well does 100W suit larger living rooms or open spaces
A: JBL Authentics 300 has 100W total output, which is enough for strong sound in a typical living area. It is designed as a moveable home speaker for room-filling playback, not as a weatherproof outdoor speaker for long, open-air entertaining.
