Great vacuum at a reasonable price
I was pleasantly surprised by this vacuum. It has great cleaning suction and worked well on both carpet and timber floors. Lots of useful attachments too. The only negative is that it is a bit heavy and could be a bit smaller in width, so it would fit in the cupboard better but this doesn't affect the use of it.

At a glance
The Hoover Pet Pro Bagless Vacuum is a barrel vacuum built for pet-owning households that need strong cleaning across carpets, hard floors and upholstery. It stands out for its 2400W motor, turbo floorhead, HEPA exhaust filtration and roomy 4L bin for longer sessions. It suits medium to larger homes with mixed flooring. One limitation is that it is a corded barrel model, so it is less compact and convenient than lighter stick vacuums.

Things to consider
This model offers strong corded cleaning power and useful pet tools, but it is less lightweight and less convenient to store or carry than compact stick vacuums or premium ultra-quiet canister models.
Pet hair performance score
9/10 - strong suction, turbo floorhead and mini turbo tool make it well suited to lifting pet hair from carpets and upholstery.
Large home suitability
8/10 - the 8m cord and 4L bin support longer whole-home cleans, though a barrel vacuum is still less effortless to move than lighter cordless models.
Carpet vs hard floor fit
Balanced mixed-floor cleaner with a slight strength toward carpets thanks to the turbo floorhead, while variable suction also helps on hard floors.
Noise level rating
6/10 - likely moderate to noticeable in use due to the powerful 2400W motor, with no specific low-noise claim provided.
Portability rating
6/10 - the barrel format and corded design are practical for reach and capacity, but less nimble than compact cordless vacuums.
Key benefits
- 2400W Motor: Delivers strong corded suction for deeper cleaning across carpets, hard floors and upholstery.
- 4L Dust Bin: Large capacity supports longer cleaning sessions with fewer stops to empty the bin.
- HEPA Exhaust Filter: Helps trap fine dust particles in the exhaust airflow for cleaner air leaving the vacuum.
- Cyclonic Technology: Maintains more consistent suction as dust builds up in the bin during cleaning.
- Turbo Floorhead: Improves pickup on carpets and helps lift embedded dirt and pet hair.
- Variable Speed Control: Lets you adjust suction to better suit delicate surfaces, hard floors or deeper carpet cleaning.
- 8m Cord: Gives extended reach for larger rooms and reduces how often you need to change power outlets.
- Accessory Set: Includes tools for stairs, upholstery, tight spaces and car interiors to make spot cleaning more versatile.
Q: Does this Hoover Pet Pro include a separate hard floor brush?
A: No. The box includes a turbo floorhead, mini turbo tool, crevice tool and dusting brush, but not a dedicated hard floor brush. Variable speed control helps on timber and tiles, though buyers wanting a separate soft floor tool may prefer to add one.
Q: Can it clean stairs and car interiors without awkward attachments?
A: Yes. The Hoover Pet Pro comes with a mini turbo tool, crevice tool, hose and extension tube, so it is set up for stairs, upholstery and car cleaning straight away. The trade-off is the barrel body and cord still need to be moved with you as you clean.
Q: Will suction stay consistent as the bin starts to fill?
A: Hoover Pet Pro uses cyclonic technology to help keep suction more consistent as dust collects in the bin. Its 4L bagless design suits longer cleaning sessions, but performance will still depend on emptying the bin and keeping the filters clear.
Q: Is this barrel vacuum easy to store in a small cupboard?
A: It is better suited to homes with a bit of storage space than tight cupboards. The barrel design is larger than a stick vacuum, it is not wall mountable, and the long cord and tool set add bulk even though they improve whole-home reach.
Q: Can the suction be turned down for rugs and curtains?
A: Yes. Variable speed control lets you reduce suction for lighter rugs, curtains or more delicate surfaces, then turn it back up for deeper carpet cleaning. That flexibility is useful because full power can feel strong on some pile types.
Q: How suitable is this vacuum for dust-sensitive households?
A: Hoover Pet Pro uses a HEPA exhaust filter to trap fine dust particles in the air leaving the vacuum. That supports cleaner exhaust air during use, but it is still a bagless model, so emptying the bin can release dust if done indoors.
