Love this item
Got this for a good price-match and it works so well. It is pretty basic in looks but it does what it's supposed to do - home sauna! It's also very light and easy to move around.

Amazing and practical
Being able to have a sauna at home is amazing. It folds down and takes up no space. The steam happens quite quickly so not a lot of waiting around. Definitely recommend this one.

At a glance
The Homedics Portable Steam Sauna is a compact at-home steam tent for one person, designed for relaxation, post-workout recovery and small-space living. It heats to 46 °C with full humidity, sets up quickly and folds away easily. It best suits users wanting convenient home steaming rather than a permanent sauna, though it offers less room and luxury than larger cabin-style models.
What it’s great for
- At-home relaxation
- Post-workout recovery
- Small-space wellness
- Occasional steam sessions
Where it works best
- Apartments
- Small homes
- Bedrooms
- Wellness corners
Who it’s for
- Home wellness users
- Apartment dwellers
- Fitness recovery users
- Space-conscious shoppers
Things to consider
It is more compact and less spacious than premium cabin-style saunas, so it suits convenient solo sessions better than a luxury sauna experience.
Skin type suitability
Most skin types, especially those seeking steam-based relaxation; use with care if highly heat-sensitive
Ease of use score
9/10 - quick to set up, simple to store and includes a foldable chair for straightforward home use
Travel friendliness
Moderate - portable and collapsible for moving around the home, but better suited to storage and occasional transport than frequent travel
Salon vs home fit
Best for home use rather than salon settings
Key benefits
- 46 °C Steam Heat: Delivers a warm full-body steam session at home for relaxation and recovery.
- 100% Humidity: Creates a saturated steam environment for a more sauna-like feel inside the tent.
- Compact Collapsible Design: Fits more easily in small rooms and folds away when not in use.
- Fast Setup: Assembles in under 90 seconds for quicker preparation before a session.
- 10 to 15 Minute Heat-Up: Gets ready for use in a relatively short time for convenient home sessions.
- 60 Minute Session Length: Supports longer steam sessions without needing immediate restart.
- Moisture-Lock Waterproofing: Helps contain steam inside the tent during use.
- Steam Vent Window: Lets you adjust airflow for added comfort during sessions.
Q: Can this replace a full-size home sauna setup?
A: No. The Homedics Portable Steam Sauna is designed for portable home use, not as a built-in sauna replacement. It gives a seated steam session and stores away easily, but it is less roomy than a fixed full-size setup.
Q: Is this steam sauna suitable for users taller than 195cm?
A: No. The Homedics Portable Steam Sauna is designed for users 195cm and under. Taller users may find the seated tent less comfortable, especially around headroom and leg position during longer sessions.
Q: Does the Homedics sauna include a chair in the box?
A: Yes. This portable sauna includes a chair as part of the seated tent setup. After use, the chair needs to dry outside the tent before storage, which matters if you plan to pack everything away after each session.
Q: Can I fold it away straight after each session?
A: No. Let the sauna dry before folding it down for storage. Keep the front flap open so moisture can escape, empty remaining water to help prevent mould, and wait 15 minutes before emptying or drying the steam generator.
Q: Where does your phone go during a sauna session?
A: The Homedics Portable Steam Sauna has an exterior phone pocket, so the phone stays outside the steam area but still within reach. That suits quick access without taking up space inside the tent or exposing the device to steam.
Q: Will it store neatly in a cupboard between uses?
A: Yes. The sauna folds down into its storage bag after drying and is designed for compact storage. It suits homes where a permanent sauna setup is impractical, but it should be stored in a cool, dry place rather than left damp.
