Spacious and functional
Standard dishwasher with a few nice features we are still working out. Plenty of room and ability to move various shelves, cutlery draws etc to fit in the bigger items. Doesn't dry as well as I would like on standard cycles but has an advanced drying feature if needed.

Key benefits
- 16 Place Settings: Cleans a large daily load in one go, making it well suited to bigger households and entertaining.
- 42dB Operation: Runs quietly enough for open-plan kitchens and evening washes with less disruption.
- 8 Wash Programs: Gives you useful flexibility for everyday dishes, eco washing and different load types.
- Auto Dose System: Holds enough detergent for up to 20 washes per fill, reducing refill frequency.
- Adjustable Baskets and Racks: Makes it easier to fit larger cookware, awkward dishes and mixed utensils.
- UV Final Rinse Technology: Adds an extra hygiene-focused step at the end of the wash cycle.
- 4.5 Star Energy Rating: Helps manage power use with estimated annual energy consumption of 219kWh.
- 6 Star WELS Water Rating: Uses 10.6L per wash cycle, supporting lower water consumption.
Q: Will 16 place settings suit a larger family or frequent entertainers?
A: Yes. Hisense HSAP16FB is sized for bigger daily loads, so it can take a full family wash-up or the dishes from a larger meal in one cycle. Capacity still depends on how bulky your pots, bowls and serving pieces are to load.
Q: How practical are the adjustable racks for pots and taller dishes?
A: The adjustable baskets and racks make this model easier to configure for mixed loads, including taller plates, cookware and awkward items. Very large serving pieces may still need some rearranging, especially if you want to keep room for cups and bowls.
Q: Does the Auto Dose system mean less daily detergent measuring?
A: Yes. Hisense HSAP16FB has an Auto Dose detergent system that handles up to 20 washes per fill, so you do not need to add detergent for every cycle. You still need to keep the reservoir topped up rather than forgetting about detergent entirely.
Q: What does the UV final rinse actually do on this dishwasher?
A: Hisense HSAP16FB uses UV technology in the final rinse stage as an extra hygiene-focused step at the end of the wash. It is part of the cycle rather than a separate cleaning method, so normal loading, detergent choice and program selection still matter.
Q: Is Eco 45 degrees enough for everyday dishes and glasses?
A: Yes, for lighter everyday loads. The Eco program runs at 45 degrees and is better suited to plates, glasses and regular day-to-day washing than heavily baked-on food. For tougher residue, one of the other wash programs is the better choice.
Q: Can this freestanding dishwasher work in a rental or renovated kitchen?
A: Yes. A freestanding design gives more placement flexibility than a built-in model, which can suit rentals or kitchens being updated in stages. It still needs the usual dishwasher water, drain and power connections in the position where it will sit.
Q: Is 42dB quiet enough for an open-plan kitchen at night?
A: Hisense HSAP16FB runs at 42dB, which is quiet enough for many open-plan homes and less intrusive than older or noisier dishwashers. It is not silent, so in a very quiet room you may still notice it during evening cycles or overnight use.
Q: What does the 4.5 star energy rating mean in practice?
A: Hisense HSAP16FB has a 4.5 star energy rating and estimated annual energy consumption of 219kWh. A higher star rating generally means lower running costs than other full-size freestanding dishwashers with a lower rating, depending on how often you run it.
