Great dryer, but the delivery is awful
The dryer works well, although most programs could take quite long. The premium delivery service is awful since they are not allowed to install the draining hose, and they won't remove the safety tape and some safety transit parts.

Amazing
Works fantastic. Only downside is the door opens from the left, which is opposite to our washer. Thankfully its reversible, I just havent had the time to do it yet.

Fast and efficient!
So far, this has been the best dryer we have ever had. It is quick, items come out dry and it does not release hot or moist air into our laundry! Very impressed that this machine was much cheaper than the last brand we tried and have been much better quality!

Good Dryer
Dryer is amazing. But the application can be improved. The dryer is so quiet and changes the timings based on the moisture in the clothes. Very efficient too.

Its key strengths are the roomy drum, 17 fabric-specific programs, sensor-based auto drying and low running costs backed by a 10 star rating. A fair limitation is that it focuses on practical features rather than the premium steam or advanced fabric-care options found on higher-end models.

Things to consider
It offers strong everyday drying performance and efficiency, but buyers wanting premium extras such as steam refresh, highly specialised garment care programs or luxury finishing features may want to compare higher-end models.
Energy efficiency score
9.8/10 - exceptional efficiency for the category, supported by a 10 star energy rating and 108kWh estimated annual energy consumption.
Family laundry suitability
9.5/10 - the 10kg capacity is very well suited to family-sized loads and regular weekly washing.
Allergy suitability
Moderate - sensor drying can help avoid over-drying, but no dedicated allergy or hygiene program is specified.
Noise level vs category
7/10 - expected to be competitive for a heat pump dryer, but no specific noise figure is provided.
Ease of use rating

Key benefits
- 10kg Capacity: Handles larger household loads in one cycle, making it well suited to family laundry routines.
- Heat Pump Drying: Uses heat pump technology for gentler drying than conventional high-heat approaches.
- 10 Star Energy Rating: Helps reduce running costs with a high Australian energy rating and estimated annual energy consumption of 108kWh.
- 17 Drying Programs: Gives you fabric-specific options for cotton, synthetics, wool and sportswear.
- Auto Dry Sensors: Adjusts drying time based on moisture and temperature to help avoid over-drying.
- Reversible Door: Lets you choose the opening direction to better suit tight laundry spaces or stacked installation layouts.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity: Allows remote monitoring and control of drying cycles through Hisense Smart Assist.
- Child Lock: Adds extra safety by helping prevent accidental changes during operation.
Q: Does this heat pump dryer need an external vent or window?
A: No. HDF8I10HB is a heat pump dryer, so it dries without the wall venting used by vented models. That suits laundries where venting is awkward, but some programs can run longer because heat pump drying uses lower temperatures.
Q: Is a stacking kit included for mounting above a washer?
A: No. HDF8I10HB can be used in a stacked laundry setup, but the stacking kit is not included in the box. If you plan to place it above a compatible washer, allow for that extra purchase rather than assuming all parts are supplied.
Q: Why can some drying programs take longer on this model?
A: Hisense HDF8I10HB uses heat pump drying and Auto Dry sensors, which are designed to dry at lower temperatures and stop based on moisture levels. That can mean longer cycle times on some programs, especially for heavier or mixed loads.
Q: Can the door be reversed for a tight laundry layout?
A: Yes. HDF8I10HB has a reversible door, so the opening direction can be changed to suit the position of a washer, wall or cupboard. That is useful in narrow laundries and can make a stacked setup easier to access.
Q: What can the Wi-Fi app actually do on this dryer?
A: HDF8I10HB connects through Hisense Smart Assist, letting you monitor and control drying cycles remotely from a compatible device. It is useful for checking progress away from the laundry, though the core drying programs still matter most day to day.
Q: How energy efficient is the Hisense 10kg Series 8i dryer?
A: Hisense HDF8I10HB has a 10 star energy rating and estimated annual energy consumption of 108kWh. A higher star rating generally means lower running costs than other 10kg dryers with a lower rating, especially with frequent use.
