The Hisense Series 8i could do with a bit more refinement for the price point. It is very compact for the capacity, perfect for small spaces and euro laundries. However it is noticeably noisier than old machine it replaced, especially unfortunate is the drain pump constantly spluttering. The colour display is not actually a touch screen yet the confirmation popups seem to have been designed specifically for touch, with inviting buttons you can't tap directly. The display and interior illumination goes to sleep after a few minutes, completely blacking out so that you cannot even see the time remaining unless you press one of the tiny buttons that can barely be seen. The wash programs are a bit hit and miss: cotton cycle defaults to over 3 hours, synthetic cycle defaults to 40 degrees. Most annoying is the total omission of a gentle or delicate program, although there is a wool cycle. The smart home app can't connect to the machine unless you manually powered it on first.

Absolutely. I’d make the ending express that the machine is too complicated and demanding for the average person, rather than implying that someone needs to be “brainy” in a negative way. Writing Very Disappointed with the Hisense 10kg Series 8i Front Load Washer I purchased the Hisense 10kg Series 8i Front Load Washer expecting a reliable, easy-to-use washing machine that would make doing the laundry easier. Unfortunately, I have found this machine very disappointing and much more complicated to use than my previous washing machine. Although it is advertised as a 10kg washing machine, I have found that when I put a large load into the machine, the clothes do not wash properly. I have to keep the drum around half full to get a satisfactory wash. This is extremely frustrating because the main reason I purchased a 10kg machine was to be able to wash larger loads all at once. The automatic/pre-programmed detergent dispenser also does not work properly, which is another major disappointment. You also cannot simply use any washing powder you want. The manual specifies using high-efficiency, low-foaming detergent and gives specific instructions regarding which detergents can be used with the automatic dispenser. This was something I was not expecting when I purchased the machine. Another problem is that you cannot simply put a large mixed load of clothes into the machine like I could with my old washing machine. I have found that I need to separate my washing much more carefully. For example, jumpers need to be washed together, underwear separately, and similar colours together. This means I have to do multiple smaller loads instead of one large load. It takes considerably more time and defeats the purpose of having a 10kg washing machine. I learned all of this the hard way because my old washing machine was completely different and much easier to use. With my old machine, I could put my clothes in, select a program and wash them without having to think about so many different requirements. Overall, I am extremely disappointed. The machine may have many features and programs, but in my experience it is not a simple washing machine for the average person. It seems more suited to someone who is prepared to spend a lot of time reading the manual, understanding the different programs, carefully sorting every load and working out exactly how the machine needs to be used. For an everyday household, I believe a washing machine should make life easier, not make doing the laundry feel like a complicated process that requires you to think about every single load. This machine is certainly not as straightforward or practical as I expected a 10kg washer to be.

It’s actually amazing
I didn’t think I’d love it this much. The down side is you can’t open the door immediately after it’s finished washing or water drops all over the floor, as the water comes out from the top of the seal where it jets the water from. The clothes are super clean. Pro and con, there’s lots of options but there’s no option to save your favourite, for further options like for grass stain cleaning etc you need to use the app on your phone. Though the notification that the machine is finished is really nice. The drum is quite big but it’s wide not deep so when filling it sometimes items fall out. Every part of the clothes are wet and have been washed efficiently. Overall I don’t regret the purchase at all, it uses such little power and water to run and gives a fantastic wash.
