  A small easy to use unit

  This is a well-built unit that works well, it is reasonably fast to get a GPS signal, gives good directions and is easy to get the address route up and running quickly. It would be better if this unit would give a map display rather than word directions as default. A good unit overall that gets you to where you need to get to. Highly rcommend this unit.

  Excellent Product

  I had purchased a Sat Nav product from another company, it only worked once and I had nothing but problems so returned it. I also bought one for my Daughters Birthday at the same time, she rang the other day and told me she is also having problems. I decided to go to the GoodGuys tp look for a Garmin GPS. The staff there were very helpful and having looked at a few reviews on the product I decided to purchase it. It was on special of which was a bonus. I am now considering buying a Garmin to replace hers, I am so impressed on the ease of use and the easy installation. It also comes with some excellent software that has some great features including Map updates. I genuinely recommend this product for anyone looking for a high quality GPS navigation system .

  It is a good Sat Nav GPS for the price point. wAs able to price match. Does not come off easily from the holder. Sticks to windscreen well. Good for kids who are on their Ps and can't use their phones for navigation - for older cars that don't have built in sat nav

  Remembers where it is after tunnels

  I was so grateful I'd replaced my (dead) 13-year-old Garmin with 'a real GPS'. I recently upgraded my radio to include a reversing camera, 'modern buttons', and a GPS. (Turned out - that GPS is 'all on your phone' - even the manual was confused on that point!) In Sydney tunnels, the phone GPS not only disconnected, it forgot where it was, and led me many kilometres astray. The Garmin GPS didn't forget, and led me to the address by an efficient route, albeit without traffic updates. I find it, and the 'digital speedometer' - and the warnings of speed-limit change and upcoming red-light cameras - useful. I chose this one to 'fit the slot' and 'cheaper'. It works. Also: (My 4WD off-road GPS also died, a bit earlier) So: Where there is no mobile reception, a phone GPS is only marginally useful. However, this Garmin Drive 53 and other GPS will give a precise grid-reference. Combined with (free, in NSW at least) 1:20,000 or better topographical maps downloaded to a portable PC, all but the most extreme 4WD exploring needs can be met. I looked at replacing the old off-road GPS with current offerings and was less than impressed. The above solution is a little clumsier, a lot cheaper, and adequate for my needs. The GPS alone is about a quarter the cost.
