Product Overview

The Bolero Double Sink FPC holds two 29L bowls for balanced washing and rinsing in the kitchen.

Homes needing flexible washing space benefit from the equal-sized bowls, each measuring 410mm x 360mm x 200mm. The sink is not pre-drilled for tap holes, so taps must be mounted in the benchtop or wall, creating a streamlined look and allowing for custom placement.

Franke bowl insulation and sound deadening pads help reduce metallic noise and limit condensation under the sink. The included DT 360 drainer and RM 44 rollamat add extra workspace for drying and resting dishes or produce. Installation options include top mount, flush mount or undermount, suiting a range of kitchen layouts.

Model BOX220-36 in silver comes with a 50 year manufacturer's warranty.

    Sink was damaged

I ordered this sink in early June 2021 and paid extra for delivery. After chasing the sink every other week, it finally came into store at the beginning of October 2021. I had to collect it as no delivery was offered. When I finally opened the box, it had been damaged. Extremely disappointed, Good Guys could not give me a replacement, so returned faulty product to store and got a full refund.

At a glance

The Franke Bolero Double Sink FPC is a premium double-bowl kitchen sink designed for households that want equal space for washing and rinsing. Its two 29 L bowls, noise-reducing insulation and flexible top, flush or undermount installation make it versatile and practical. Included drainer and rollamat add usable bench space. One limitation is that it is not pre-drilled, so tap mounting must be planned separately.

Who it’s for

  • Families

  • Renovators
  • Households Wanting Double-Bowl Flexibility

Things to consider

This sink is not pre-drilled for tap holes, so it suits kitchens with benchtop or wall-mounted tap plans rather than buyers wanting a simpler drop-in tap setup.

Family suitability

High - the equal double-bowl layout suits busy households that need separate washing and rinsing zones.

Ease of cleaning score

8/10 - streamlined tap-free sink deck and flexible mounting help keep the sink area neat, though the double-bowl format has more edges than a single bowl.

Apartment vs house fit

Best for houses and larger apartments with enough bench space for a double-bowl sink.

Noise reduction rating

8/10 - bowl insulation and sound deadening pads help reduce metallic noise compared with basic stainless steel sinks.

Durability vs category average

9/10 - premium build quality and a 50 year manufacturer's warranty place it above average for long-term confidence.

Key benefits

  • Two 29 L bowls: Gives you balanced space for washing in one bowl and rinsing or prep in the other.
  • Equal bowl size: Makes workflow more flexible because both sides can handle the same everyday kitchen tasks.
  • 410 mm x 360 mm x 200 mm bowl dimensions: Offers practical depth and usable bowl area for dishes, cookware and produce washing.
  • Top mount, flush mount or undermount installation: Gives renovators more freedom to match different benchtops and kitchen styles.
  • No pre-drilled tap holes: Supports a cleaner look and custom tap placement on the benchtop or wall.
  • Sound deadening pads: Helps reduce metallic sink noise during washing up.
  • Bowl insulation: Helps limit condensation under the sink to support a tidier cabinet area.
  • Included DT 360 drainer and RM 44 rollamat: Adds extra workspace for drying dishes or resting washed produce.

Q: Do I need benchtop or wall-mounted tapware with this sink?

A: Yes. This sink is not pre-drilled for tap holes, so the tap must be mounted in the benchtop or on the wall. It suits a cleaner sink edge and flexible tap placement, but it will not take tapware designed to mount through the sink itself.

Q: Will two equal bowls be better than one large and one small?

A: Yes, if you want the same working space on both sides for washing and rinsing. Each bowl measures 410mm x 360mm x 200mm, so the layout feels balanced, but there is no oversized main bowl for very wide oven trays or platters.

Q: Which benchtops suit the top, flush or undermount installation options?

A: This sink supports top mount, flush mount and undermount installation, so it can suit different kitchen finishes. The best option depends on the benchtop material and edge detail, so discuss the mount type before the bench is cut.

Q: Can the included drainer and rollamat add usable bench space?

A: Yes. The included DT 360 drainer and RM 44 rollamat add extra space for draining dishes or resting produce over the sink area. That gives you more flexibility than a fixed drainboard, while keeping the bench clearer when the accessories are removed.

Q: Is this sink a quieter stainless steel option for open kitchens?

A: Franke BOX220-36 includes bowl insulation and sound deadening pads to reduce the sharper metallic noise common with stainless steel sinks. It will not be silent, but it is designed to sound less harsh during washing up than an untreated bowl.

Q: Does the double bowl design help reduce condensation underneath?

A: Franke BOX220-36 includes bowl insulation that helps limit condensation under the sink. That can be useful in enclosed cabinetry, though it is a moisture-control feature rather than a substitute for proper sealing, plumbing connections and cabinet ventilation.
