At a glance
The FoodSaver 28 cm Vacuum Bag Roll 2 Pack is a practical refill option for households that bulk prep meals, freeze larger portions or store bigger cuts of meat. The cut-to-size roll format helps reduce waste and gives flexibility for awkward items. Its main strengths are custom sizing, broad FoodSaver compatibility and reliable sealing material. The limitation is that it only suits machines that accept 28 cm wide rolls.
What it’s great for
- Bulk meal prep
- Freezer storage
- Portioning large cuts of meat
- Custom vacuum sealing
- Reducing food waste
Where it works best
- Home kitchen
- Family household
- Bulk cooking routine
- Freezer organisation setup
Who it’s for
- Home cooks
- Meal preppers
- Families
- Bulk buyers
- Freezer storage planners
Things to consider
These rolls are only suitable for vacuum sealers that accept 28 cm wide material, so they are less universal than smaller roll sizes or brand-agnostic bag options.
Appliance compatibility assessment
8/10 - Strong compatibility within the FoodSaver range, but only with models that accept 28 cm wide rolls.
Ease of installation rating
9/10 - Simple to load, cut and seal in compatible FoodSaver vacuum sealers.
Upgrade suitability
A good upgrade for users moving from pre-cut bags to custom-length rolls for more flexibility and less waste.
Cleaning convenience
9/10 - Disposable bag material means no accessory cleanup beyond normal sealer maintenance.
Key benefits
- 2-Pack Format: Gives you more sealing material on hand for regular meal prep and freezer storage.
- 28 cm Wide Roll: Suits larger food portions and bigger cuts of meat that may not fit narrower bags.
- 5.4 m Roll Length: Each roll provides substantial material for making multiple custom-sized bags.
- Cut-To-Size Design: Lets you create bag lengths to match different food types and reduce excess material.
- FoodSaver Compatibility: Works with FoodSaver models that accept 28 cm wide rolls for flexible everyday use.
- Thick Bag Material: Designed to seal reliably and help protect stored food from freezer burn.
- Storage Preservation Support: Helps keep food fresher for longer when used with a compatible vacuum sealer.
- Custom Bag Sizing: Handy for sealing odd-shaped items that do not suit standard pre-cut bags.
Q: Will this roll fit every FoodSaver vacuum sealer model
A: No. This roll suits FoodSaver vacuum sealers that accept 28cm-wide material. Check your machine's roll width before buying, because a sealer made for narrower bags will not feed or seal this roll correctly.
Q: Do I need a FoodSaver machine to use these rolls
A: Yes. These rolls are made for vacuum sealing, so they need a compatible sealer to create the bag and remove air properly. They are not a standalone storage option and will not work like pre-sealed zip bags on their own.
Q: Is the 28cm measurement the width or the length
A: The 28cm measurement is the bag width. Each roll is 5.4m long, so the length is what you customise at home. That makes it easier to size a bag for a roast, batch-cooked portions, or awkward-shaped items.
Q: Can I cut these rolls for smaller food portions
A: Yes. You can cut each roll to the length you need, which is useful for portioning meals or separating bulk buys. The width stays at 28cm, so very small items may use more material than a narrower roll would.
Q: Are these rolls suitable for freezing larger cuts of meat
A: Yes. The wide format suits larger portions and cuts that can be awkward in smaller bags. The material is designed to seal reliably and help limit freezer burn, but the result still depends on getting a complete seal with a compatible machine.
Q: Can these rolls help reduce food waste at home
A: Yes. Cutting the roll to the length you need can avoid wasting bag space on smaller portions, and vacuum sealing helps keep stored food in better condition. You still need the right bag length and a complete seal for best results.
