Excellent washing machine
I am extremely happy with this washing machine. It has plenty of different cycles to choose from and you can make adjustments to them in order to suit your requirements. A very quiet machine as well and we love the wide bowl access and soft closing lid. I haven’t run into a problem, Fisher and Paykel have made my life easier! Based on the performance of this machine to date, I would certainly recommend it.

The perfect washing machine
With no centre agitator, this washer has heaps of room for washing and rinsing large loads. Even with towels in it, or bed linen, it doesn't become unbalanced and does a lovely clean, fresh smelling wash. The side washing liquid dispenser evenly distributes the liquid. The washing cycles are easy ti set and the auto setting is great. Plus, the machine itself is attractive with the grey top. I love this machine. Well done, Fisher & Paykel.

Top Loader Series 5 Not Happy
I have had Fisher & Paykel Top Loaders for many years and in Nov 2025 my 10 year old top loader stopped working so i went out to find another one and this 9 Kg top loader without and agitator seemed a good purchase. Its not. I have always washed my jeans inside out as is recommended and never had a problem. the new top loader leaves all my black jeans and active wear with what looks like dirty water stains so I have to wipe them with a wet cloth to remove the stains which doesn't always work.

Takes a long time to do a wash. A lot of confusing choices for different types of wash
We’ve had F&P washing machines for several years and they were always quite easy to use. However, our 9kg model seems to have so many different programs for different types of wash. We are 4 people (all adults) and 95% of the time we just use one setting - Mixed wash. Occasionally just a spin is needed or just a rinse. The manual needs to be read carefully before understanding all the different setting choices. Finally we got the settings worked out as well as the odd quirks for the ones we use. I don’t know why the cycles run for such a long time eg, 57 mins for a Quick (!) Wash. 18 mins for Spin. 34 mins for Rinse. Etc The lint traps inside the drum seem to be a good idea as they always have some lint inside after each wash. All in all, after only having the machine now for almost one month, so far, so good, although a far simpler range of wash choices would have made life much easier in the beginning. By the way, the final beeps at the end of a wash are really faint and we usually don’t hear them at all if we’re in another part of the house. Having said all that, the machine seems to be doing what it’s supposed to - wash the clothes. I’ll have a much better idea in a few years’ time.

Not like they used to be
Don’t particularly like this new washing Machine. Wouldn’t be so bad if it had glass/perspex lid. I never know if there is enough water when I use “auto” the water doesn’t cover the clothes. I have to check every time which means pausing and waiting for lick to open. Stupid idea. Then when I need to add water I have to turn machine off and start at beginning. Can’t just change water level. Another dumb idea.
