Works better than expected
Very happy with the winbot. It cleans the windows better than expected. It helps to buy some extra cleaning pads to swap on for each window. Great for cleaning the exterior of our upstairs windows.

Perfect for large windows and sliding doors
Significant reduction in effort required to clean homes with large windows and sliding doors. Results are impressive, just need to change the rotate the microfibres pads as they become dirty and keep the cleaning fluid topped up.

Works well
So far so good with the window robot. It does exactly as it says on the box - washes windows automatically. That said, it’s amazing if it’s used consistently - windows look great. If the window is extra dirty, it may require multiple cycles AND wash pads. Overall, happy with the purchase.

This is a must have item in every home, I think outside the box I do my glass splash-back in kitchen, shower screens. Glass balustrades, I even clean my granite kitchen bench. At a glance
The Ecovacs Winbot W2 Pro OMNI is a premium robotic window cleaner for homes with large, tall or awkward-to-reach glass surfaces. It suits busy households wanting easier maintenance on windows, shower screens and glass balustrades, with strong suction, onboard battery cleaning and simple station-based control. Its main limitation is that it is built for flat glass cleaning rather than broader floor-cleaning or specialist non-glass surfaces.
What it’s great for
- Window Cleaning
- Tall Window Maintenance
- Shower Screen Cleaning
- Glass Balustrade Cleaning
- Hard-to-Reach Glass Surfaces
Where it works best
- Multi-storey Homes
- Apartments with Large Windows
- Bathrooms
- Homes with Glass Balustrades
- Rooms with Limited Power Point Access
Who it’s for
- Busy Households
- Apartment Dwellers
- Homeowners with Large Windows
- People with Hard-to-Reach Glass
- Convenience-Focused Cleaners
Things to consider
It is purpose-built for flat glass surfaces, so it is less versatile than robotic cleaners designed for broader whole-home floor cleaning or for specialised surface types.
Pet hair performance score
1/10 - designed for window cleaning rather than collecting pet hair from floors or soft furnishings.
Smart home integration score
4/10 - app support is implied, but the standout control method is the OMNI Station rather than deep smart home integration.
Carpet vs hard floor suitability
Not suitable for carpets or hard floors; designed specifically for flat glass surfaces.
Noise level vs category average
6/10 - at 63dBA, it sits in a moderate range for powered household cleaning devices.
Allergy friendliness
Moderate - helps remove dirt and residue from glass surfaces, but it is not positioned as a sealed allergen-control cleaning system.
Key benefits
- 5500Pa Suction Power: strong suction helps the robot stay attached securely to flat glass while cleaning.
- Up to 110 Minutes Battery Life: allows longer cleaning sessions on windows or glass areas without direct access to a power point.
- OMNI Station Control Panel: lets you start and manage cleaning without relying on the app for every job.
- WIN-SLAM 4.0 Intelligent Planning: helps the robot navigate glass surfaces more methodically around edges and obstacles.
- Three-Nozzle Wide-Angle Spray Atomisation Technology: sprays cleaning solution across a wider area to help loosen built-up dirt.
- Gravity Acceleration Sensor: improves edge awareness to support safer, more controlled movement on glass.
- Bagless Design: simplifies maintenance by avoiding ongoing bag replacement.
- 63dBA Noise Level: operates at a moderate noise level that is manageable for indoor household cleaning.
Q: Can it clean frameless shower screens and glass balustrades safely?
A: Yes. The Winbot W2 Pro OMNI is designed for flat glass, which includes shower screens and glass balustrades as well as windows. It is not intended for curved glass, textured surfaces or floor cleaning, so its use is quite specialised.
Q: Will it work on outside windows without a nearby power point?
A: Yes. The Winbot W2 Pro OMNI runs for up to 110 minutes per charge, which suits glass areas without direct power point access. It is still designed for flat glass only, so it will not replace a general household cleaning robot.
Q: Does it leave very dirty glass perfectly streak free in one pass?
A: No. The spray system and cleaning modes help lift built-up dirt, but heavily soiled glass may still need a second pass. Results also depend on keeping the pads clean, because dirty pads can leave more residue or light streaking behind.
Q: How well does it handle edges, frames and common window obstacles?
A: The Winbot W2 Pro OMNI uses WIN-SLAM 4.0 planning, edge detection and a gravity acceleration sensor to navigate around edges and obstacles. It is designed to stay stable on flat glass, but large protrusions can still interrupt the cleaning path.
Q: Is the Winbot W2 Pro OMNI noisy during indoor cleaning?
A: Ecovacs rates the Winbot W2 Pro OMNI at 63dBA, so it is clearly audible while cleaning rather than near-silent. That suits normal daytime use, but it may be noticeable in a quiet room such as a study, nursery or bedroom.
Q: Do I need the app every time I use it?
A: No. The OMNI Station works as a control panel, so routine cleaning does not depend on opening the app each time. That is useful if you want simple operation at the window, though app control is still available if preferred.
