Great for small apartments
This is perfect for hard floored small apartments. It looks and feel so futuristic and the lights really uncover so much debris that you cant see with the naked eye. Suction is not super strong on eco mode but works well for daily vacuuming.

Game changer
The product is for a very specific use, ie no carpet, it’s perfect if you have pets, it picks up dog hair off boards or tiles perfectly. With the multi directional head and light weight you can walk and vacuum, so your cleaning gets done in half the time. Dyson has done it again!

Love the light
Bought this little gem as I needed a Dyson stick within my budget that had a light sensor due to my buildup of dog hairs that I cannot see without the light I darken the kitchen and the lounge and the stick is very Swifty very light easy to use and picks up every single dog hair that my other Dyson stick cannot do without the light. The only downfall with this and because it’s just the first one is it gives you 20 minutes or a little bit less. I managed to get the kitchen and the dining and lounge done within that time as I don’t have a big place so I’m really enjoying this product and hopefully in future he will increase the time on it to 30 great product if you have animals on floor boards and A medium to small house

At a glance
The Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones Cordless Vacuum is a premium stick vacuum built for homes that want agile hard-floor cleaning, hair pickup and easy manoeuvrability. It suits apartment dwellers, busy households and users who prefer a slim, lightweight feel. Key strengths are its tangle-resistant Fluffycones head, dust illumination and sealed filtration. The main limitation is its shorter up to 30-minute runtime compared with some larger cordless models.
What it’s great for

- Everyday quick cleans
- Hair pickup
- Tight space cleaning
- Lightweight whole-home touch-ups
Where it works best
- Apartments
- Modern homes with hard floors
- Small to medium households

Things to consider
Best suited to hard-floor focused homes and short to medium cleaning sessions, as the up to 30-minute runtime in Eco mode is shorter than some larger cordless stick vacuums.
Pet hair performance score
9/10 - Fluffycones are specifically designed to lift and strip hair from surfaces with no tangling, especially strong on hard floors.
Carpet vs hard floor suitability
Best for hard floors; most compelling benefits are dust illumination and anti-tangle hair pickup on hard surfaces.
Portability rating
9/10 - Slim format, 38 mm handle and spot-spinning cleaner head make it highly manoeuvrable and easy to carry around the home.
Noise level vs category average
Not specified; no verified claim available from provided specs.
Allergy friendliness
8/10 - Fully sealed filtration captures 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns in boost mode, helping reduce dust and allergen escape.
Key benefits
- Fluffycones cleaner head: Four conical brush bars help lift and strip hair from surfaces so it can be sucked up with no tangling.
- Edge cleaning cone design: The conical shape cleans right to the edge where other cleaner head shapes can miss.
- Dust illumination: Illuminates microscopic dust forwards and backwards on hard floors so debris is easier to see in all directions.
- Slim 38 mm handle: The narrow handle fits comfortably in the hand for precise control during everyday cleaning.
- Cleaner head spins on the spot: Improves manoeuvrability around furniture and in tighter spaces around the home.
- Up to 30 minutes runtime in Eco mode: Delivers fade-free cordless cleaning for shorter whole-home or quick top-up sessions.
- Fully sealed filtration: Captures 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns in boost mode to help contain dust and allergens.
- Hygienic bin emptying system: Pushes compressed dust deep into the bin to help reduce dust clouds when emptying.
Q: Is this Dyson good for carpet or mainly hard floors?
A: It is mainly a hard-floor vacuum. The Fluffycones head is built to illuminate dust and pick up hair on boards and tiles, while carpet use is better suited to light surface cleaning rather than deep cleaning across large carpeted areas.
Q: Will 30 minutes be enough for a full house clean?
A: Dyson PencilVac runs for up to 30 minutes in Eco mode. That suits quick daily cleans, smaller homes and hard-floor zones, but longer sessions, higher power modes and extra tools will reduce run time, so large whole-home cleans may need a recharge or spare battery.
Q: Can the cleaner head reach right along skirting boards?
A: Yes. The Fluffycones head is shaped to clean right to the edge, and the head spins on the spot for tighter turns around table legs and corners. It is designed for hard floors, where edge dust and hair are easier to see and pick up.
Q: Can you swap the battery instead of waiting to recharge?
A: Yes. Dyson PencilVac uses a swappable four-cell lithium-ion battery, so a charged spare can keep cleaning going without waiting for the vacuum to recharge. A second battery is most useful if the Eco-mode run time does not cover the whole job.
Q: Does the slim handle make it easier on stairs?
A: Yes. Dyson PencilVac has a 38mm handle and a slim body that are easier to guide with one hand on stairs and around furniture. The trade-off is battery endurance, so it is better suited to short touch-up cleaning than long deep cleans of a larger home.
Q: What does the MyDyson app actually add to this vacuum?
A: The MyDyson app adds extra settings and maintenance guidance for Dyson PencilVac. It is useful if you want reminders and product help in one place, but the vacuum's core cleaning functions do not depend on the app to work.
