At a glance
This is a premium electric toothbrush and flosser for people who want more guided, high-tech oral care at home. Its standout strengths are camera-assisted gap targeting, simultaneous brushing and flossing, and app-based feedback. It suits detail-focused users and gum-care conscious households. One limitation is that the full experience depends on the MyDyson app and genuine Dyson brush heads.
What it’s great for

- Gum care support
- Plaque reduction
- Interdental cleaning
- Guided brushing
- Whitening surface stains
Where it works best
- Home bathroom
- Shared family bathroom

Who it’s for
- Adults
- Tech-savvy users
- Gum-care focused users
- People upgrading from a manual toothbrush
- Users wanting brushing and flossing in one device
Things to consider
The most advanced features rely on Wi-Fi, the MyDyson app and genuine Dyson brush heads, so it is less suited to buyers who want a simple, low-dependency toothbrush.
Family suitability
Best for adults and older teens in households that want guided oral care; less ideal for very young children due to the advanced app-led feature set.
Orthodontic compatibility
7/10 - the precision jet and gentle gumline cleaning may suit users who need careful interdental cleaning, but individual orthodontic needs should be checked with a dental professional.
Gum care effectiveness
9/10 - designed for targeted interdental flossing and gumline cleaning, with claims of improved gum health versus a manual toothbrush when used as directed.
Travel friendliness
6/10 - usable for travel, but it is better suited to home use if you want the full app-connected experience and starter-kit routine.
Ease of use score
8/10 - automatic modes, pressure alerts and guided app features make daily use easier, though the feature depth may feel complex for users wanting a basic toothbrush.
Key benefits
- Gap Optical Targeting camera: Identifies and targets interdental gaps while you brush for more precise flossing between teeth.
- Brush and flosser in one: Can brush and precision-floss at the same time to simplify daily oral care.
- Pressurised conical jet: Delivers up to 0.15 mL of liquid between teeth for targeted interdental cleaning.
- Variable sonic oscillation: Oscillates 245 times per second to keep bristles moving for strong plaque removal.
- Dual-bristle brush head: Cleans gently along the gumline and helps lift surface stains for a whiter-looking smile.
- Onboard pressure and technique sensors: Alerts you when you are pressing too hard or using the wrong brushing technique.
- RFID brush head monitoring: Tracks brush head wear and lets you know when it is time to replace it.
- MyDyson app connectivity: Gives access to live cleaning footage, guided cleaning and coverage mapping for more informed brushing.
Q: Can the Dyson CameraJet toothbrush work without the MyDyson app?
A: Yes. You can still use the toothbrush’s brushing and flossing modes without the app. The MyDyson app is needed for live cleaning footage, teeth inspection and guided insights, and it connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Q: Does this toothbrush need genuine Dyson brush heads to function properly?
A: Yes. Dyson states the CameraJet only works properly with a genuine Dyson brush head. That matters in daily use because RFID wear tracking and the intended brushing performance rely on the correct head being fitted.
Q: Will the smart features work on a 5 GHz home network?
A: No. The MyDyson connection for this toothbrush requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. If your home network is set to 5 GHz only, the connected features will not set up correctly until a 2.4 GHz option is available.
Q: Can it brush and floss separately, or only at the same time?
A: It can do both. The three cleaning modes let you run brush-and-floss together, brush-only, or floss-only, so it suits a full clean or a quicker targeted pass without using every function each time.
Q: What comes in the starter kit with this Ceramic Ultra Blue model?
A: This starter kit includes the Dyson CameraJet toothbrush, Non-foaming toothpaste and Low-foaming mouth rinse. Those formulations are engineered for this model, so a standard foaming toothpaste may not suit the same brush-and-floss routine.
Q: How long will Dyson support the CameraJet software features?
A: Dyson defines software support for the CameraJet until at least 31 Dec 2031. That matters if connected features are part of your decision, because live footage, insights and app functions rely on ongoing software support.
