    Non existent support

I've had this for a week. I keep getting repeated "wheel errors" despite there being no obvious problem. I emailed Dreame, and they told me to email Mova for support. I email Mova telling them Dreame had referred me, and it was for a Dreame A1 Pro. They insisted on having all contact details, serial number, phone number, address and invoice. I supplied this. Then they said they can't help me, and to go back to Dreame. I wouldn't touch this product until support in Australia is more robust, especially given the price. However see my other review for general performance

    Impressive so far

Setup is very easy. Drive the unit around each zone to be mowed. Then drive paths so it can get between the zones and back to the charging station (if you have zones separated by stairs, it needs to be able to drive back to the base (at least once for the setup) - then you can carry it to where it needs to go. Each zone can be configured with obstacle sensitivity, mow direction and electronically adjusted mow heights. Aside from the base station, there are no wires / RTK / antennas to set up. All of this can be set on a schedule, and you can configure it to mow which zones in which order. Mow pattern is generally in a U pattern and gets 98% of the lawn. The next time it generally seems to miss a different small patch. Navigation is very impressive. Like a decent robotic vacuum, you can pick it up, put it anywhere and it will know where it is. The LIDAR creates a 3D map. I'd mow with a normal mower to the correct height, then get this to keep it maintained. It does take some time to figure out the correct mow height for each zone (unless you have a perfect lawn). It does occasionally get stuck (my lawn is very rutted), and it does get stuck on a a very thick and spongey lawn that badly needs to be scarified. It will notify you on the app if it has issues. Battery life is pretty poor. It takes about 8hrs including charging to finish 500m2 on standard mode - needs to be charged 4 times. Thankfully it automatically returns to the base, and will resume when charged. Charging itself is quite quick. There is a speed mode which is faster (I haven't tried). The app is decent, and easy to understand. Occasionally I get a wheel error, but I think it's getting stuck on my thick lawn. You can just resume it on the app without issue. I take off one star for the battery life

At a glance

The Dreame A1 Pro is a premium robot lawn mower for homeowners with medium to large lawns who want low-effort, app-based mowing. Its strengths are 3D LiDAR mapping, tidy U-shaped cutting paths, 2000 m2 coverage and strong slope handling up to 24 degrees. It is especially good for users who want smart navigation without constant supervision. One limitation is that its smart-home integration details are not specified.

Lawn size suitability

Up to 2000 m2

Pet & child safety score

7/10 - autonomous mowing reduces manual blade handling, but dedicated child or pet safety features are not detailed in the provided specs.

Smart home integration score

5/10 - app control is included, but no specific voice assistant or wider smart-home platform support is stated.

Noise level vs category average

6/10 - likely in line with typical robot mower expectations, but no measured noise figure is provided.

Complex garden handling

Strong for sloped and mapped lawns, with 3D LiDAR navigation, U-shaped path planning and support for gradients up to 24 degrees.

Key benefits

  • 2000 m2 Lawn Coverage: Suits medium-to-large residential lawns without needing a smaller-capacity mower.
  • 24 Degree Slope Capability: Handles steeper garden sections more confidently than models aimed only at flatter yards.
  • OmniSense 1.0 with 3D LiDAR: Helps the mower map and navigate your lawn with smart obstacle awareness and structured route planning.
  • U-Shaped Cutting Paths: Creates more systematic mowing coverage across the lawn for a neater, more consistent finish.
  • Adjustable 3-7 cm Cutting Height: Lets you tailor grass length to suit different lawn types and seasonal growth.
  • App Control and Scheduling: Makes it easy to start, plan and monitor mowing from your phone.
  • IPX7 Water Resistance: Supports reliable operation and easier cleanup in wet outdoor conditions.
  • Included Charging Station and Setup Accessories: Comes with the core extras needed to get started without sourcing key parts separately.

Q: How does the Dreame A1 Pro navigate the lawn and avoid obstacles?

A: The Dreame A1 Pro uses 3D LiDAR mapping and OmniSense 1.0 to build a map of your lawn, then follows a U-shaped mowing path for even coverage. It also uses 3D obstacle avoidance, so it can route around common yard objects rather than just bumping into them.

Q: Can the Dreame A1 Pro manage more than one lawn area or separate zones?

A: Yes. Dual map management and app control let the Dreame A1 Pro handle more than one lawn area, which is useful for front and back yards or separate sections. The app is also where mowing order, schedules and zone settings are managed.

Q: Can the Dreame A1 Pro mow in wet weather?

A: It is designed for wet conditions, with an IPX7 rating and rain sensors built in. That means the Dreame A1 Pro can cope with showers better than a fair-weather-only mower, but very soft or waterlogged ground can still affect traction and the finish.

Q: Is the Dreame A1 Pro suitable for sloped or uneven lawns?

A: The Dreame A1 Pro is rated for slopes up to 24 degrees, so it suits many gently to moderately sloped yards. Very rutted ground, thick thatch or spongey patches can still reduce wheel grip, so it is better at maintaining a lawn than recovering a rough one.

Q: Will the Dreame A1 Pro finish a large lawn in one session?

A: Not always. The Dreame A1 Pro is designed to cover lawns as large as 2000m2, but bigger or more complex yards may require recharge-and-resume cycles before the job is done. Layout, slope and how many zones you set up will affect how quickly it finishes.
