Great price and works well
Bought this unit for a spare bedroom. It works really well - cools down the room quickly and was easy to set up and use.

Reliable
Purchased this portable aircon early January 2026. Needed it for a small room. This compact unit did the job. Keep room at a comfortable temperature. Great for small rooms. Will need a window for the outlet vent. My only issue is the length of the plates for the vent was too short. Not a deal breaker though.

Very decent cooler
We purchased to use in holiday accommodation. Average size bedroom. Cooled very effectively. Was a little noisy but we were still able to sleep well. Installation was easy.

Would not recommend
The window install kit is way too small and very flimsy, only good for really small window, had to make an extension, not designed for sliding sideway windows, unless they are very small. Also the tube that is attached is totally inadequate, it just pushes in, does not screw in properly and falls out every time you move it. The unit although it goes down to 18 would only be adequate for a small room, as it is only felt when you are right in front of it, very disappointed in the quality. Not good value for the money.

Compact unit works well but noisy
Fits in a tight spot and cools the 3x3 room down real quick. It is very noisy in a small room. Ok if your on your own but difficult to hear each other when talking.

- Suitable for Rooms up to 20m2: A good match for bedrooms, studies and compact living spaces.
- 0.54L/hour Dehumidifying Capacity: Helps reduce moisture in the air to make small rooms feel less damp and more comfortable.
- Touch Controls: Makes day-to-day operation straightforward and easy to adjust.
- 24-Hour Timer: Lets you schedule cooling to better suit your routine and avoid running it longer than needed.

Q: Is this portable air conditioner strong enough for open-plan living areas
A: No. This model is suited to rooms around 20m2, such as a bedroom, study or smaller living area. In a larger open-plan space, cooling will be slower and less even, especially if the area is not well enclosed.
Q: Will the included window kit suit any type of window
A: No. A window kit is included, but the exhaust still needs a nearby window setup that can vent hot air outside. It is generally easiest with sliding-style windows, while some awning or wider windows may need a different solution.
Q: How noisy is the Dimplex DCP9C in a bedroom
A: Dimplex DCP9C is rated at 54 dBA, so the fan and compressor will be noticeable in a quiet bedroom. It can still suit overnight use for buyers who prioritise cooling, but it is not a near-silent option.
Q: Can I use it mainly as a dehumidifier in humid weather
A: Yes. This model has a dehumidifying function that removes 0.54L of moisture per hour, which is useful in muggy smaller rooms. It is still a portable air conditioner first, not a substitute for a larger dedicated dehumidifier.
Q: Is it easy to move from room to room
A: Yes. The portable format and included window kit make it practical to reposition as needed, and a remote control is included for daily use. At 20.8kg, it is movable, but not especially light if you need to carry it often.
Q: Does it have Wi-Fi or app control built in
A: No. Dimplex DCP9C is not Wi-Fi enabled, so settings are adjusted from the touch controls or the included remote. That keeps operation straightforward, but it cannot be controlled from an app when you are away from the room.
