Top notch product
Value for Money The 500ml bottle is conveniently designed for multiple uses. Since a standard descaling cycle typically requires 100ml of solution, one bottle provides five full treatments. For the average home user, this translates to about a year’s worth of maintenance, making it a cost-effective alternative to buying single-use sachets.

Effective Coffee Descaler
I have been using Delonghi Coffee Descaler Solution for the last 5 years with my Delonghi coffee machine. The instructions are clear, it is simple to use and always keeps my machine functioning at its best. Because it is a liquid and is added to the water container, you should be able to use it with any brand of coffee machine.

It suits home users who want easy dosing, trusted brand compatibility and enough liquid for about four cleaning cycles. Its main strengths are simple use and routine machine care, but it is a cleaning accessory rather than a specialist formula for heavy commercial descaling.

Things to consider
It is best suited to regular household descaling and typically provides about four cycles, so heavy-use or commercial users may prefer larger-volume or specialist descaling solutions.
Machine compatibility
Compatible with DeLonghi and other coffee machines that use liquid descaler and require regular descaling; check your machine manual before use.
Barista suitability
7/10 - well suited to home barista maintenance routines, though not tailored as a high-volume commercial cleaning product.
Ease of use
8/10 - straightforward to measure and dilute, with clear dosage markings and simple cycle-based use.
Cleaning convenience
8/10 - one bottle covers about four descaling cycles, making routine machine care easy without frequent repurchasing.
Key benefits
- 500 mL bottle: Provides enough solution for about four descaling cycles, depending on machine tank size and water hardness.
- Limescale removal formula: Helps dissolve mineral deposits from internal machine components to support ongoing performance.
- Broad coffee machine suitability: Suitable for compatible espresso and bean-to-cup machines that require regular descaling.
- Clear dosage markings: Makes it easier to measure each cleaning cycle accurately with approximately 100 mL per use.
- Dilution-based use: Lets users prepare the solution according to their specific coffee machine instructions.
- Easy-to-handle bottle: Compact bottle shape is simple to hold and pour during the descaling process.
- Regular maintenance support: Helps maintain appliance longevity when used as part of ongoing coffee machine care.
Q: How many descaling cycles does the 500ml bottle usually provide?
A: DeLonghi DLSC500 typically covers about four descaling cycles. Each cycle uses approximately 100mL of solution, so the exact number varies with your coffee machine's tank size and the water hardness in your area.
Q: Do you use the DeLonghi descaler straight or dilute it first?
A: Dilute it before use. DeLonghi DLSC500 is designed to be mixed according to your coffee machine's descaling instructions, so it is not intended to be poured in neat, and the correct amount can vary by machine.
Q: Is this descaler only for DeLonghi espresso and bean-to-cup machines?
A: No. DeLonghi DLSC500 suits coffee machines that require regular descaling, including espresso and bean-to-cup models. Use the dosing method your machine specifies, because compatibility depends on the descaling process it requires.
Q: Will this remove heavy scale build-up or just routine limescale?
A: It is intended for regular descaling rather than a neglected machine with severe build-up. It dissolves limescale and mineral deposits from internal components, but heavy scaling may need repeated treatments or a more intensive service.
Q: Can you use the whole bottle in one descaling cycle?
A: No. A descaling cycle uses approximately 100mL of solution, so the full 500mL bottle is intended for multiple cleans rather than a single treatment. It should also be diluted as directed for your specific coffee machine.
