At a glance
This 60cm slideout rangehood is a practical choice for smaller kitchens, apartments and households wanting a low-profile look under overhead cabinets. It offers simple push-pull operation, 200m3/hr extraction, LED cooktop lighting and dishwasher-safe micromesh filters for easy upkeep. It is best suited to light-to-moderate everyday cooking, but its airflow and 68dBA noise level are more modest than larger premium rangehoods.

Things to consider
With 200m3/hr extraction and a 68dBA max noise level, it is better for light-to-moderate cooking than heavy high-heat cooking compared with more powerful premium models.
Small kitchen suitability
9/10 - Compact 60cm slideout format and under-cabinet installation make it well suited to smaller kitchens and apartments.
Noise level vs category average
6/10 - At 68dBA max, noise is typical for an entry to value-focused slideout rangehood rather than especially quiet.
Ease of cleaning rating
8/10 - Dishwasher-safe multilayer aluminium micromesh filters help simplify regular cleaning.
Cooking frequency fit
Best for light to moderate everyday cooking
Key benefits
- 200m3/hr Extraction: Helps remove everyday smoke and odours effectively in smaller kitchens.
- Slideout Design: Tucks neatly under cabinetry for a cleaner look when not in use.
- Push-Pull Controls: Starts ventilation quickly with simple, familiar operation.
- Two Fan Speeds: Lets you match extraction to lighter simmering or more active stovetop cooking.
- 5.5W LED Light: Brightens the cooktop area for better visibility while cooking.
- Dishwasher-Safe Aluminium Micromesh Filters: Makes routine cleaning easier and helps reduce maintenance effort.
- Ducted or Recirculating Installation: Offers flexibility to suit different kitchen layouts and installation needs.
- 60cm Width: Suits standard compact cooktop setups and smaller cabinetry spaces.
Q: Is this rangehood strong enough for heavy frying or wok cooking
A: Chef CRR612WB is better suited to light or moderate cooking than heavy smoke cooking. Its 200 m3/hr airflow can handle boiling, simmering and everyday pan frying, but frequent searing or wok cooking may leave odours behind.
Q: Do you have to pull it out before the fan starts
A: Yes. The fan is activated by the slideout push-pull design, so the hood needs to be extended when cooking starts. When closed, it sits neatly under the cabinet, but extraction is not intended for use in that tucked-away position.
Q: Can the Chef CRR612WB be installed ducted or recirculating
A: Yes. Chef CRR612WB supports either ducted or recirculating installation, which helps in kitchens with or without outside venting. A 120mm duct spigot is included, and ducted setup will usually clear smoke and odours more effectively.
Q: How noisy is the Chef slideout rangehood on the highest speed
A: Chef CRR612WB reaches 68 dBA at maximum speed, which is typical for a compact slideout rangehood rather than an especially quiet one. It is suitable for everyday cooking, but you will still hear it clearly while it is running.
Q: Will this suit a small apartment kitchen with overhead cupboards
A: Yes. The 60cm slideout format is designed to fit under overhead cabinets and tuck away when not in use, so it suits compact apartment kitchens well. It is a better match for smaller spaces than large open-plan cooking areas.
Q: Are the mesh filters dishwasher safe on this rangehood
A: Yes. Chef CRR612WB uses multilayer aluminium micromesh filters that can go in the dishwasher, which makes routine grease cleanup simpler. Regular cleaning matters on a lower-airflow hood because blocked filters can reduce extraction performance.
