Q: Can the Canon PGI-680XXL Black cartridge replace a PGI-680XL cartridge in the same printer?
A: Yes. If a printer is designed for the Canon PGI-680 black series, the PGI-680XXL is the same cartridge family with a higher yield. It is not a substitute for different series such as PGI-670, even if the cartridge shape looks similar.
Q: Which Canon printers use the PGI-680XXL Black cartridge with CLI-681 colour cartridges?
A: This cartridge suits Canon PIXMA models that use the PGI-680 black and CLI-681 colour system, including selected TS and TR series printers. It is compatible with models such as TS6360, TS8360, TR8660 and TS9565, not older 670-series machines.
Q: What does the 600-page yield mean for the Canon PGI-680XXL Black cartridge?
A: The stated yield is about 600 pages under ISO testing at 5% coverage per page. In everyday use, long text documents may come close to that figure, while heavy graphics, bold headings and frequent cleaning cycles will reduce the total pages printed.
Q: Is the Canon PGI-680XXL Black cartridge mainly for document printing or photo printing?
A: It is mainly the black cartridge for plain-paper document printing in Canon's 680 and 681 ink system. It helps produce sharp text, while photo output still depends on the matching CLI-681 colour cartridges, so black alone is not enough for full-colour photo work.
Q: Can the Canon PGI-680XXL Black cartridge be refilled?
A: No. This genuine Canon cartridge is sold as a replacement ink cartridge, not as a refillable tank or bottle. Third-party refill methods exist, but they are separate products and may affect ink monitoring, print quality or day-to-day reliability.
