Pros
Cons
A bit disappointing
I have a lot of Breville products, but this one is not really up to Breville standards. Ultimately, it is a slow cooker but doesn’t seem to get hot enough to cook thoroughly. I Initially tried a recipe that I have cooked many times in various slow cookers which they all cooked to perfection in the standard 8 hours. Not this slow cooker! Ten hours later, the recipe was edible but the meat was not falling off the bone ( which it was with other slow cookers). I tried a second well used recipe with a ham hock and lentils. I put it on for 10 hours initially, however it was nowhere near cooked in that time, with the ham impossible to remove off the bone and the lentils still hard. I am very disappointed with this product

Does the job
Not as good as a standard slow cooker, I’m unsure if the high settling is not as strong as a typical slow cooker

Slow cooker
Great unit although a litre too small. I asked for the one next to it that i purchased a year ago so I wanted another. Drove miles to get home and unpacked it then noticed it was wrong ( and more expensive) . Needed one there and then so guess what. The sailsman was way to agressive in selling me evefything i looked at. I couldnt get rid of him, not even by telling him I dont need help Im just brousing. Wont return to the Rockingham store again Anyhow its too small but its a great product for someone else

Does not live up to its promise
I was lured into this by the promise of searing,it does that but in regards to its slow cooking abilities there is something seriously wrong, after an 8 hour cook for my beef curry with lentils, my vegies were not soft as if cooked low and slow, my lentils still hard and my meat definatley not falling apart, also when tasting the sauce I certainly did not need to blow it so as not to burn my tounge, i feel there is a serious temperature issue with my cooker and have contacted Breville- very disapointing for me this on , and it wasn't a cheep cooker either

Love at first bite
I love this slow cooker. Its versatility is like no other and I love its ease. Aesthetically it is sleek and slim enough to have as a permanent addition to my bench top. Cannot fault it and would recommend it to anyone.

Great slow cooker
Love that we can sear directly in the pot and that the pot is cast iron. Excited to try some more recipes.

Q: What does the "6 in 1" in the Breville The Ultimate Cook refer to?
A: It refers to six built-in cooking functions in the one appliance, aimed at one-pot cooking rather than a single slow-cook mode. That gives it more flexibility than a basic slow cooker, especially for dishes that need browning before a long cook.
Q: How hot is the slow cook setting on the Breville The Ultimate Cook 6 in 1?
A: Breville does not generally list an exact slow-cook temperature for each setting. In real use, slow cookers typically sit around 85 to 95C on Low and about 95 to 100C on High, which suits braises, soups and stews rather than fast frying.
Q: Can the Breville The Ultimate Cook brown ingredients before slow cooking?
A: Yes, this model is designed for one-pot cooking, so it can handle recipes that benefit from browning before switching to a longer program. That can improve flavour and reduce extra washing up compared with using a separate frypan first.
Q: How is the Breville The Ultimate Cook 6 in 1 different from a basic slow cooker?
A: A basic slow cooker mainly gives low and high heat for long cooking. The Ultimate Cook adds multiple cooking functions in the same appliance, so it is better suited to meals that need extra steps, but it is still focused on benchtop one-pot cooking.
