    Toasty

Love this panel heater as its wifi enabled so I can schedule it to come on in the morning so the rooms warm when we wake up. It also heats up so quick

    Not usable

This heater gives of a chemical smell that never goes away which makes it unusable. I originally thought this was the production oils that would burn off over time. So I left it running for hours, more then I should have but the smell unfortunately never went away. It smells like a frying pan left on high heat with nothing in it. Very disappointed.

    Not worth

It was told that it will be for large room and it would keep the room warm. But it fails to serve its purpose. It takes ages to heat up and definitively not good enough if you are relying only this product for keeping your room warm.

    Doesnt go over 19c

I was told this would be a good heater, but it only warms to 19c, I wish I got the one I wanted. Not the one the young guy said that would work.

At a glance

This connected 2200W panel heater suits households wanting quiet, steady warmth in larger bedrooms, living rooms and open-plan areas. Its strengths are app control, flexible portable or wall-mounted use, and useful safety features for everyday family homes. A fair limitation is that convection heating can feel slower to deliver instant warmth than fan-forced or radiant heater alternatives.

What it’s great for

  • Quiet whole-room heating
  • Everyday winter comfort
  • Bedroom heating
  • Living area heating
  • Smart home control

Where it works best

  • Large bedroom
  • Living room
  • Open-plan home area
  • Study
  • Apartment

Who it’s for

  • Family household
  • Apartment dweller
  • Remote worker
  • Smart home user
  • Light sleeper

Things to consider

It is better for steady room heating than fast spot heating, so shoppers wanting near-instant heat may prefer a fan heater or radiant model.

Small room suitability

Suitable, but better matched to medium to large rooms where its 2200W output can be used more effectively

Energy efficiency score

7/10 - Eco mode and thermostat control support more measured heating, but no star rating is stated

Noise level vs category average

9/10 - quieter than many fan heaters because it uses convection heating without fan noise

Safety features score

9/10 - strong home-safety setup with child lock, tip-over auto-off and overheat protection

Portability rating

7/10 - portable design and carry-friendly format help, though its 7.2 kg weight makes it less grab-and-go than compact personal heaters

Key benefits

  • 2200W heating power: Delivers strong output suited to larger bedrooms, living rooms and open-plan home areas.
  • Convection panel design: Provides gentle, even warmth without fan noise or blowing dust around the room.
  • Three heat settings: Lets you adjust warmth levels to better match changing weather and comfort needs.
  • 12-hour timer: Helps you schedule heating around sleep, work or evening routines.
  • Smart Eco mode: Automatically adjusts heating to help maintain your chosen temperature.
  • Wi-Fi app and voice control: Supports remote scheduling and control through the Breville Home Connect app, Alexa and Google.
  • Portable or wall-mountable installation: Gives you the flexibility to move it between rooms or save floor space.
  • Child lock, tip-over auto-off and overheat protection: Adds reassurance for daily use in shared or family spaces.

Q: Does this panel heater use a fan or convection heat?

A: It uses convection heat, not a fan. That means quieter operation with less air movement and less dust being pushed around the room, but the warmth builds more gradually than a directional fan heater aimed straight at you.

Q: Can it heat a large bedroom or open-plan living area?

A: Yes. Breville LCH308GRY is a 2200W panel heater designed for larger bedrooms, living areas and open-plan spaces. Like most convection heaters, it performs best when the room is reasonably enclosed rather than exposed to strong draughts.

Q: How much scheduling control does the Breville LCH308GRY give you?

A: Breville LCH308GRY gives you three heat settings, a 12 hour timer and Smart Eco mode to help maintain your set temperature. Wi-Fi control through the app or voice assistants suits households that want to schedule heating before they get home.

Q: Will this heater work mounted on a wall or floor?

A: Yes. This model can be used as a portable floor heater or wall mounted if you want to save floor space. Its slim 52 x 90 x 8 cm body suits tighter layouts better than bulky tower or fan-style heaters.

Q: What safety features are built into this connected panel heater?

A: Breville LCH308GRY includes a child safety lock, tip-over auto-off and ThermoSecure overheat protection. Those features are useful in busy homes, but it still needs clear space around it and should not be covered while operating.

Q: Is the power cord long enough for flexible room placement?

A: This model has a 1.9m cord, which gives more placement flexibility than very short-cord heaters kept right beside a socket. It still works best near a wall outlet, especially if you plan to position it neatly under a window or along a wall.

Q: Would this heater be too big for a small bedroom?

A: Physically, the slim panel design can fit a smaller room, especially if wall mounted. In heating output, 2200W is aimed more at medium to large spaces, so it can be more heater than needed for a very small bedroom.
