    Ticks all the boxes

We have so far been delighted with our new cooktop. It is easy to use, from a quick boil on boost, to a slow simmer without burning or sticking. We like the versatility of the spaced out, different size and shape elements. No problems at all!

The best cooktop Ive ever had!

I was talked into getting an induction cooktop over gas by some friends who had made the swap. Ill admit to being a little reluctant, but trusted my friends opinions. Weve had it installed for a few weeks now and I cant believe how good it is! The temperature control is instantaneous and I cant believe how fast it can boil water or heat up a frypan! I cooked an omelette this morning and it was absolutely perfect because the temperature control was so precise. Im still getting used to it, but its already won me over! As an added bonus its the easiest cooktop ever to clean! I simply wipe it with some warm soapy water when Im done then dry it with a tea towel or paper towel and its like brand new. If youre thinking about swapping over from gas to an induction cooktop, stop thinking about it and just do it. Our Bosch model is also very easy to operate and the controls are bright and intuitive. Highly recommended!

    Bosch 80cm induction cooktop

This is our 2nd Bosch induction cooktop with our previous one lasting for 17 years. We are enjoying our recently purchased induction cooktop and it did not take my 77 year old partner too long to transition to this new product. He does not like change but he adjusted readily to the different buttons on this new cooktop. I would recommend this Bosch induction cooktop to users of all ages.

    Bosch 80cm Induction Cooktop

This product was purchased due to our previous Bosch Induction Cooktop being 17 years old. Due to the age of our cooktop, two of the elements were no longer working and it was time to update. We found our previous Bosch cooktop simple to use so we decided to stick with the same brand. We found the staff at The Good Guys knew their products and were extremely knowledgeable when providing advice on our products available. We are extremely happy with our purchase.

    fantastic cook top

Fast at heating up will keep frying when a large amount of meat is dropped in the pan instead of stewing it. Easy clean-up. Alarms if a pot boils over.

At a glance

The Bosch Series 8 80 cm Induction Cooktop is a premium four-zone model designed for families and home cooks who want fast, precise heat control and flexibility for larger cookware. Its FlexInduction area, Direct Select Premium controls and easy-clean glass surface make everyday cooking simpler. A fair limitation is that it offers four zones, so heavy entertainers may prefer larger multi-zone specialist cooktops.

Things to consider

While the flexible zone is useful for larger cookware, serious entertainers or buyers wanting more simultaneous cooking space may prefer a wider cooktop or a model with more than four zones.

Family cooking suitability

High - the 80 cm width, four zones and flexible cooking area suit multi-dish family meals well.

Energy efficiency score

8/10 - induction heating is inherently efficient and directs heat to cookware, though no formal star rating is provided.

Cookware compatibility assessment

7/10 - works best with induction-compatible cookware, but the flexible zone improves usability with larger compatible pots and griddles.

Safety rating

9/10 - child lock, spill protection, residual heat indicator and switch-off timer provide strong everyday safety support.

Ease of cleaning

9/10 - the smooth glass ceramic surface is simple to wipe clean after regular cooking.

Key benefits

  • 80 cm Cooktop Width: Gives you more room for larger pots and multiple dishes at the same time.
  • Four Cooking Zones: Supports everyday family cooking with space for several pans in use at once.
  • FlexInduction Zone: Adapts to oversized pots or griddle plates for more versatile meal preparation.
  • Direct Select Premium Controls: Lets you adjust heat levels quickly and accurately with touch control.
  • Up to 3700 W Power: Delivers strong heating performance for faster boiling and rapid temperature response.
  • Glass Ceramic Surface: Wipes down easily after cooking for lower day-to-day cleaning effort.
  • Child Lock: Helps prevent unintended operation in homes with children.

Q: Will this Bosch cooktop work with my current pots and pans

A: It works with induction-compatible cookware only. Pans need a magnetic base to heat properly, so aluminium, copper or glass cookware without a magnetic layer will not work, even on the flexible cooking area.

Q: Can the FlexInduction zone handle a griddle plate or oversized pot

A: Yes. The FlexInduction area is designed for larger cookware such as a griddle plate or oversized pot, so heat can follow the pan placement more flexibly. It still remains a four-zone cooktop, so total cooking space is not unlimited.

Q: Does this model suit larger family cooking or entertaining at home

A: Yes. Bosch PXE875DC1E combines an 80cm layout with four cooking zones, which suits cooking multiple dishes and using larger pans at the same time. If more than four active zones are often needed, a larger layout may suit better.

Q: Why might the controls flash on an induction cooktop like this

A: Flashing usually means the cooktop is not detecting suitable cookware, or the touch controls have been interrupted by moisture or spills. Use a dry surface and a centred pan with a magnetic base for normal operation.

Q: What does the key symbol mean on this Bosch induction cooktop

A: The key symbol indicates the child lock or control lock is active. It is there to stop settings being changed accidentally, so the hob will need to be unlocked before heat levels or other functions can be adjusted.

Q: Is the glass ceramic surface easy to clean after messy cooking

A: Yes. The glass ceramic surface is smooth, so everyday splashes and spillovers are easier to wipe away once the cooktop has cooled. The residual heat indicator helps show when the surface is still hot and should not be cleaned yet.
