Great upgrade after dragging Technika for years
Very good quality washing & drying, great design to fit multiple types of dishes, pots, pans & cutlery. Very handy WiFi functions and notifications on mobile app. Smooth operations absolutely quite, compared to technicka which was making noise level 8 out of 10, this one makes 1 out of 10. top separate cutlery section is very very handy.

Excellent product
The perfect replacement for our old dishwasher. Very quiet and cleans the dishes perfectly, even on the short 1-hour cycle. I highly recommend the product.

Excellent cleaning performance and quiet
We've been using this dishwasher for several weeks and have been very impressed. It cleans dishes, pots, and cutlery thoroughly, even on heavily soiled loads. The machine operates very quietly, making it easy to run at night without disturbance. The adjustable racks provide plenty of flexibility, and the stainless steel finish looks great in the kitchen. The drying performance is also excellent. Overall, it's a reliable, high-quality dishwasher that represents great value for money.

Delivery process
The product we received is working well and we are happy with the product. It was a strange process however trying to get this delivered and installed with your contractor. We didnt have a problem with the contract installer but rather the Good Guys themselves in this process. We basically were told by the Good Guys to ring the warehouse to find out when it was to arrive and arrange with the contractor. As a customer I dont think its our job to determine the arrival of the product and organise with the contractor. I believe this should have been for both the Good guys and contract installer to manage and then to arrange a time for us for delivery. As we followed up the contract installer he didnt respond the first time and we had to follow for a second time all the while the product was in sitting there ready in the warehouse. I felt like we were doing all the work with the arranging even though we were the paying customers. I thought this was a very poorly run process with the Good Guys coming across to us as washing their hands of the issue once they had collected the sale. Not an experience you expect to get from someone wanted to keep our business.

Needs features to unload itself
Really happy with this dishwasher. It cleans exceptionally well, is surprisingly quiet, and the stainless steel finish looks great in the kitchen. The racks are well designed and seem to fit far more dishes than you'd expect, which means fewer loads and less time spent in the kitchen. Even pots, pans and glasses come out spotless. My only complaint is that it still doesn't unload itself. Other than that, it's hard to fault. A reliable, efficient dishwasher that just gets on with the job.

Good value and very quiet
I am extremely happy with this dishwasher. Great features including good range of programs, adjustable baskets, separate cutlery drawer leaves bottom basket free for large pots and pans, very quiet and cleans really well. It was also easy to install. It was worth paying a bit extra to get the model that is still made in Germany.

It is so quiet you can barley tell it is on, it cleans well and I love the easy adjustment to accommodate larger glasses or big pots

At a glance
This 60 cm Bosch Series 6 freestanding dishwasher is a strong mid-range choice for families and busy households that want flexible loading, quiet 44 dB performance and app connectivity. Its 15 place setting capacity, VarioDrawer and adjustable basket make everyday use easy. Key strengths are capacity, convenience and gentle drying. The main limitation is that it offers solid all-round performance rather than the premium drying and specialty features found in higher-end models.

Things to consider
It is a well-equipped all-rounder, but shoppers wanting premium-level drying performance, more specialised wash options or a more upscale feature set may prefer a higher-end dishwasher.
Family use suitability
High - 15 place settings and flexible baskets suit regular family-sized loads.
Energy efficiency score
8/10 - 4 star energy rating and 5.5 star WELS with 11 L per cycle support efficient everyday use.
Ease of loading rating
9/10 - VarioDrawer and a height-adjustable basket make it easier to fit cutlery, pots and taller items.
Noise level vs category average
8/10 - 44 dB is quietly competitive for a full-size freestanding dishwasher and well suited to open-plan homes.
Installation flexibility
Good - freestanding design is simple to place, and the removable top can help it fit under some benchtops with a minimum height of about 81.5 cm.
Key benefits
- 15 Place Settings: Handles larger daily loads, making it a practical fit for medium to large households.
- VarioDrawer: Gives cutlery and utensils their own loading space to free up room in the lower basket.
- Height-Adjustable Basket: Makes it easier to fit taller pots, wide plates and awkward items when load sizes vary.
- 44 dB Operation: Runs quietly enough to suit open-plan kitchens with less disruption to conversations or TV audio.
- Heat Exchanger Drying: Dries dishes gently while helping protect more delicate items.
- Home Connect Wi-Fi: Lets you monitor cycles remotely and receive notifications through the Bosch app.
- 4 Star Energy Rating: Uses an estimated 245 kWh per year, helping keep running costs in check for regular use.
- 5.5 Star WELS Water Rating: Uses 11 L per wash cycle, offering strong water efficiency for a full-size dishwasher.
Q: Will this fit under a standard kitchen benchtop?
A: Yes, in some kitchens. With the top removed, Bosch SMS6HCI02A can fit under a benchtop where the opening is at least about 815mm high. It is still a 60cm freestanding dishwasher, so width, depth and door clearance need to suit the cavity.
Q: Does heat exchanger drying fully dry plastic containers?
A: Not always. Bosch SMS6HCI02A uses heat exchanger drying, which is gentler on dishes but plastics can still come out with some moisture. Glass, ceramic and metal usually dry better than lunchboxes, lids and lightweight containers.
Q: Is the top cutlery drawer better than a basket for family loads?
A: Yes, for many family loads. The VarioDrawer moves cutlery out of the lower basket, so there is more room below for plates, pots and mixing bowls. Longer utensils still need careful placement so the drawer can slide shut cleanly.
Q: How quiet is 44dB in an open plan kitchen?
A: Bosch SMS6HCI02A runs at 44dB, which is quiet for a freestanding dishwasher and usually suits open-plan spaces. You are still likely to hear water movement if the room is otherwise very quiet, but it is not a loud wash cycle.
Q: What can Home Connect actually do on this dishwasher?
A: Home Connect lets Bosch SMS6HCI02A connect to Wi-Fi for remote monitoring and status notifications. It is useful if you want to check progress away from the kitchen, but it is not described here as adding new wash capacity or a larger program list.
Q: Can it handle big dinner parties or bulky cookware?
A: Yes, it is built for larger loads with capacity for 15 place settings and a flexible interior. The adjustable basket and cutlery drawer help with pots and wider plates, but very large oven trays can still reduce space for other items in the same wash.
