    Fantastic cooktop

Love this cooktop. Great features and heat. We had to replace our cooktop which died and after some research decided on the Bosch. Very happy with unit. Love the metal protection on the side of the cooktop less chance of damaging it. Great heat selection would recommend.

At a glance

This 60cm Bosch Series 6 induction cooktop is a strong mid-range choice for households that cook several dishes at once and want fast, responsive control. Its flex zones, PowerBoost and simple touch interface make everyday meal prep easier, while the glass ceramic surface is easy to wipe down. One limitation is that it may feel compact for larger kitchens needing more cooking space.

Things to consider

Its 60cm size is practical for many homes, but cooks who regularly use several large pots at once may prefer a wider cooktop for more spacing and capacity.

Family cooking suitability

High - four zones, flex areas and a timer make it well suited to preparing multiple dishes in busy households.

Energy efficiency score

8/10 - induction heating is typically responsive and directs heat to compatible cookware rather than heating the whole surface.

Cookware compatibility assessment

Requires induction-compatible cookware; best suited to magnetic pots and pans.

Safety rating

8/10 - child lock and residual heat indicator add practical safety for everyday family use.

Ease of cleaning

9/10 - the flat glass ceramic surface is easy to wipe down and has fewer crevices than traditional cooktops.

Key benefits

  • Flex Induction Zones: Lets you combine cooking areas to better fit larger pans and cookware.
  • DirectSelect Touch Controls: Makes it quick to adjust heat levels during simmering, boiling or frying.
  • PowerBoost: Provides extra heat when you need faster boiling or more intense searing.
  • 17 Power Levels: Gives finer heat control for more precise cooking results.
  • Automatic Zone Selection: Helps simplify setup by recognising the active cooking area.
  • Residual Heat Indicator: Shows when the surface is still hot to help reduce accidental contact.
  • Child Lock: Adds extra peace of mind in family kitchens by helping prevent unintended operation.
  • Glass Ceramic Surface: Offers a durable, smooth top that is easier to wipe clean after cooking.

Q: Will my existing pots and pans work on this cooktop?

A: Only induction-compatible cookware will heat on the Bosch PXX695HC1E. A magnetic base is the usual sign it will work, while aluminium, copper or glass pans without a magnetic layer will not heat properly on this surface.

Q: Can flex induction zones handle larger pans or cookware?

A: Yes. Bosch PXX695HC1E can combine cooking areas to suit larger induction cookware than a single zone allows. The base still needs to sit flat on the glass, or heat pickup can be uneven across the pan.

Q: Is a 60cm cooktop enough for cooking four dishes?

A: Yes, for many households. This Bosch cooktop has four zones in a compact 60cm width, so it suits everyday multi-dish cooking, but larger pots used together can feel tighter than on a wider cooktop.

Q: What does PowerBoost do in everyday cooking?

A: PowerBoost adds a short burst of stronger heat for jobs like boiling water quickly or starting a sear. Bosch PXX695HC1E is still better run at a lower setting for simmering or sauces once the pan is hot.

Q: Can I lock the controls so kids cannot change settings?

A: Yes. Bosch PXX695HC1E includes a child lock to help stop settings being changed accidentally. The residual heat indicator is separate, so it still shows when the surface remains hot after cooking has finished.

Q: How precise are the heat settings for simmering and frying?

A: Bosch PXX695HC1E has 17 power levels, which gives finer control than a small low-medium-high style range. That makes it easier to step down from boiling to a gentler simmer without moving pans between zones.
