    Great Induction Cooktop

We have had this cooktop now for about 5 weeks and it works really well. we have the 3 zones which is perfect for what we need as we rarely ever have more than 2 things going at the once. I find the elements heat up quick and what we previously use to cook on a '7', with this cooktop it only needs to be on '6'. Consistent heat and really slim finish so blends into countertop really well.

    Bosch induction cooktop

Unlike our previous induction top the Bosch can be wiped down without activating all the buttons. The extra wide disc is better for our larger cookware.

    Great Purchase

Wish I had changed to induction cooking way earlier. Upgraded our 10-year-old hotplate. Purchased our Bosch Induction hotplate at Booval Store. Great help from Customer Service Staff and got the cooktop for a great price with 5 yr gold service. We upgraded the electrical cable when we had it installed so we could use the boost features if needed on all hotplates. Still getting the hang of it, but I love how it stops cooking almost instantly. Easy to clean, very happy with our purchase.

    Stylish. We cooktop

Loving my new cooktop. It’s fabulous with one huge element for my stockpot and 2 smaller / normal size ones for general cooking. Heats up quickly, reminds you something is on the stove. Very pleased with this purchase.

Bosch Series 4 60cm Induction - well worth putting on the shortlist

Love the countdown timer, quick heating that comes with being an induction model. Though I would miss the previous gas stove but this I would say is just as quick heating and has many more features. Great product especially if you really don't need 4 elements.

At a glance

This 60cm Bosch induction cooktop is a practical choice for households wanting fast, precise electric cooking in a compact footprint. It suits everyday family meals, smaller kitchens and users who value easy cleaning and straightforward touch controls. Key strengths are responsive heat control, useful safety features and a sleek black finish. The main limitation is its three-zone layout, which offers less flexibility than larger premium cooktops.

Things to consider

With three cooking zones and a 60cm format, it is less suited to larger households or cooks who regularly need four or more pots operating at once.

Family cooking suitability

Good for small to medium households; three zones suit everyday meals but can feel limiting for larger family cooking sessions.

Energy efficiency score

8/10 - induction heating directs energy to compatible cookware and reduces wasted heat compared with typical radiant electric cooktops.

Cookware compatibility assessment

Requires magnetic-base cookware such as cast iron or induction-compatible stainless steel; not all aluminium or non-magnetic pans will work.

Safety rating

8/10 - strong everyday safety credentials thanks to child lock, pan recognition and automatic switch-off.

Ease of cleaning

9/10 - the smooth ceramic glass surface is easy to wipe clean and has no burner grates or raised elements.

Key benefits

  • Three induction cooking zones: lets you handle everyday meal prep across multiple pots and pans on a compact 60cm surface.
  • 17 power levels: gives you finer heat adjustment for boiling, simmering and gentler tasks like melting.
  • Touch controls: makes heat selection quick and simple without protruding knobs.
  • Black ceramic glass surface: creates a sleek built-in look and is easy to wipe down after cooking.
  • Pan recognition: helps the cooktop respond only when suitable cookware is placed on a zone.
  • Child lock: helps reduce the chance of accidental changes or activation by children.
  • Automatic switch-off: adds peace of mind by shutting the cooktop down in certain unattended or unsafe situations.
  • Timers for cooking zones: helps you keep track of multiple dishes with less guesswork.

Q: Do I need special pans for this induction cooktop

A: Yes. Bosch PUJ611BB5H works with cookware that has a magnetic base, including cast iron and many stainless steel pans. Aluminium, copper and glass cookware will not heat unless the base is induction-compatible.

Q: Is the three-zone layout enough for everyday family cooking

A: Yes, for many kitchens. Bosch PUJ611BB5H has three cooking zones across a 60cm surface, which suits everyday meals and side dishes, but it offers less flexibility than a four-zone cooktop when several large pans are on at once.

Q: What electrical load should I allow for this model

A: Bosch PUJ611BB5H is listed at 4600W, which gives the key figure an electrician needs before replacing an older electric or gas cooktop. If the existing circuit was sized for a different load, the wiring arrangement may need discussion with your electrician.

Q: Can Bosch PUJ611BB5H be mounted flush into the benchtop

A: No. Bosch PUJ611BB5H is a surface-mount cooktop without a frame, so it sits on the benchtop cut-out rather than being installed truly flush. The frameless edge gives a cleaner look, but the glass still remains above the bench surface.

Q: How fine are the heat adjustments on this cooktop

A: Bosch PUJ611BB5H has 17 selectable power levels, so heat can be stepped up or down more precisely than a basic low-medium-high layout. That helps with tasks like simmering, melting or bringing a pot up to a fast boil.

Q: Will it stop heating when a pan is removed

A: Yes. Bosch PUJ611BB5H uses pan recognition, so a zone only heats when suitable cookware is detected. It also has automatic switch-off, which adds a back-up layer if a zone is left on or a pan is not detected correctly.
