Love this dishwasher
Wasn't sure at first, but now I love it. The cutlery draw is well layed out. The racks are more spaced out in some areas, so great for fitting bowl style plates. I can run an hour cycle, it cleans so well without any rinse aid. Love that. But I do miss not having the song playing at the end of cycle. But I got use to that. If you want a simple machine that washes very well, this a great one.

I'm impressed
The Bosch dishwasher was recommended by a friend and I will also recommend it to friends. It is much quieter than my old one and this means its ok to hear the tv without turning up the volume. I'm also pleases that the quick 1 hour cycle has excellent results and leaves even my cutlery sparkling.

Product is fine Sales is fine /excellent Delivery and after order service appalling
Simple to run and operate. Just the Good guys after order follow through was hopeless. Excellent sales staff Lesley, just back of house positively dredfull and anytime you want to ring them the phone rings of the hook. Good guys spend the money and have somebody answering the phone dont just rely on one of the floor sales staff picking up.

Works well, reasonably quiet, quite a low price - makes me wonder why you'd pay more. Delivery person was flexible, easy to contact, a real bonus.

Great dishwasher
Very quiet when operating. Excellent cleaning results. Info book wasn't very clear at explaining some of the functions, eg speed perfect setting. Very happy with purchase and great machine for the price.

At a glance
This 60cm Bosch freestanding dishwasher is a practical choice for medium to large households that want reliable everyday dishwashing with app control and flexible loading. Its strengths are 13 place settings, anti-flood protection, HygienePlus and solid water and energy ratings. One limitation is that it offers only five wash programs, so buyers wanting more specialised cycles or premium rack systems may want to step up.
What it’s great for
- Everyday Family Dishwashing
- Medium to Large Households
- Mixed Loads
- Glassware and Cups
- Remote Cycle Monitoring
Where it works best
- Family Kitchens

Who it’s for
- Families
- Couples with Regular Entertaining
- Busy Households
- Value-Focused Buyers
Things to consider
With five wash programs and a more straightforward rack setup than higher-end models, it is better suited to everyday loads than buyers seeking highly specialised cycles or premium internal flexibility.
Family use suitability
8/10 - good capacity, child lock, anti-flood protection and flexible loading make it well suited to regular family use.
Energy efficiency score
7/10 - a 3.5 star energy rating and 4 star WELS rating deliver solid everyday efficiency rather than class-leading performance.
Ease of loading rating
8/10 - 13 place settings, foldable cup shelves and a glass holder support practical loading for mixed household items.
Noise level vs category average
5/10 - noise output is not specified here, so it is difficult to confirm how it compares with the category average.
Installation flexibility
Freestanding 60 cm format suits most standard kitchen spaces and is easier to place than a built-in model.
Key benefits
- 13 place settings: Handles a full day’s dishes for many medium to large households in one cycle.
- Flexible racks: Foldable cup shelves and a glass holder help you fit everyday plates, cups and more delicate items more neatly.
- HygienePlus: Extends the final rinse time and temperature for a more hygienic clean on heavily used dishes and baby items.
- Home Connect: Lets you start or monitor wash cycles from your phone for added day-to-day convenience.
- AquaStop Plus: Adds anti-flood protection to help reduce worry in busy family homes.
- Child lock: Helps prevent accidental changes to settings while a cycle is running.
- 3.5 star energy rating: Offers solid everyday energy performance with estimated annual energy consumption of 255 kWh.
- 4 star WELS water rating: Uses 12.7 L per wash cycle to help keep water use in check.
Q: Is HygienePlus the same as a sanitising dishwasher cycle?
A: No. HygienePlus is a wash option that extends the final rinse time and temperature for a more hygienic clean. It is useful for baby bottles and heavily used dishes, but it is not described as a separate sanitising program.
Q: Can the top basket safely hold wine glasses and cups?
A: Yes. The upper basket has foldable cup shelves and a glass holder to steady lighter and more delicate items during a wash. It is better suited to everyday glasses and cups than bulky or unusually shaped stemware.
Q: How useful is the Quick 1hr program for everyday washing?
A: Quick 1hr suits lighter day-to-day loads when you want plates, cups and cutlery turned around faster. For heavily soiled cookware, the dedicated Pots & Pans or Auto Wash programs are the better fit.
Q: Does Home Connect let you start washes when you're away?
A: Yes. Home Connect allows this dishwasher to be started or monitored from a phone, which is handy when you want a cycle ready before you get home. It adds convenience, but the core wash performance stays the same.
Q: Will the basket layout suit bulky pots and serving dishes?
A: It can handle everyday pots and pans, especially with the dedicated heavy-duty program, but the rack system is fairly basic. Very bulky trays, platters or awkward cookware may need more rearranging than on a more flexible basket design.
Q: Does the child lock stop accidental opening during a cycle?
A: Yes. Bosch SMS2ITW01A includes child lock features aimed at reducing accidental opening or changes during use. It is a practical family feature, but it does not replace normal supervision around a hot appliance.
