Product Overview

The 80cm Downdraft Cooktop heats four induction zones and extracts steam directly from the cooking surface.

This Bosch induction cooktop suits households looking to combine cooking and extraction in one appliance, especially where overhead rangehoods are not preferred. Its integrated ventilation system is designed for island benches or open-plan kitchens, keeping sightlines clear and simplifying layout. The frameless glass ceramic surface sits flush with the benchtop, offering a minimal look that fits modern cabinetry.

Touch controls with 17 power levels allow precise temperature adjustment for boiling, frying, and simmering. The PowerBoost and QuickStart functions speed up heating, while the timer helps manage multiple dishes. Safety features include a residual heat indicator and child lock. Flexible zones let you combine two cooking areas for large pots, and the cooktop must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Model PVQ811H26E in black comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty.

    Value for money downdraft cooktop

We looked at many downdraft cooktops and by far Bosch was the best overall value. The aesthetic design of it also made it an easy choice. We purchased instore without seeing it in person, so it was a bit of a gamble but so far we’ve been very happy with our choice.

At a glance

The Bosch 80cm Downdraft Cooktop is a premium 2-in-1 appliance that merges efficient induction cooking with a built-in downdraft extractor, ideal for open-plan kitchens and those seeking a minimalist look. It excels at fast, precise cooking and keeps the air clear without an overhead rangehood. Best suited for design-focused homes, but its downdraft system may be less effective than high-powered canopy hoods for heavy-duty cooking.

9/10 - Induction technology ensures minimal energy waste and rapid heating.

Key benefits

  • Integrated Downdraft Ventilation: Removes steam and odours directly at the cooktop, eliminating the need for an overhead hood.
  • Frameless 80cm Surface: Offers a seamless, modern look and maximises usable cooking space.
  • Induction Technology: Delivers fast, precise heat control for efficient cooking.
  • Touch Controls: Simple, intuitive operation enhances user experience.
  • Flexible Cooking Zones: Accommodates different pan sizes for versatile meal preparation.
  • Easy-to-clean Glass Surface: Smooth surface allows quick wipe-down after use.
  • 5 Year Warranty: Extended coverage for peace of mind.
  • Space-saving Design: Ideal for kitchen islands or where overhead ventilation is not possible.

Q: Can this downdraft cooktop replace an overhead rangehood?

A: Yes. Bosch PVQ811H26E has integrated ventilation that extracts steam from the cooking surface, so an overhead rangehood is not usually required. For frequent heavy frying or wok cooking, a dedicated overhead hood can still move smoke more effectively.

Q: What should I plan for PVQ811H26E installation at home?

A: Bosch PVQ811H26E must be installed by a licensed electrician. Because the extractor is built into the cooktop, the cabinet below needs planning around the ventilation components and any ducting route, not just the benchtop cut-out.

Q: Is the centre extractor effective for everyday family cooking?

A: Yes. Bosch PVQ811H26E is designed to pull steam and cooking vapours down at the cooktop, which suits everyday boiling, simmering and pan cooking. Smoke-heavy cooking creates a bigger extraction load, so expectations should be set accordingly.

Q: Will large pans fit across the flexible cooking zones?

A: Yes. Bosch PVQ811H26E lets you combine two cooking areas into a larger flexible zone, which suits oversized pots or rectangular cookware better than a single standard zone. Very large cookware can still crowd the remaining zones.

Q: How precise are the touch controls when simmering or frying?

A: Bosch PVQ811H26E has touch controls with 17 power levels, so heat can be adjusted in smaller steps than a basic low-medium-high setup. That gives better control for simmering sauces or holding a steadier frying temperature.

Q: Does the integrated ventilation make cleaning more complicated?

A: No. The glass ceramic surface wipes down much like a standard induction cooktop, and the ventilation parts are designed to be removable for cleaning. The centre intake adds one extra area to maintain, but not a separate overhead hood.
