Key strengths are portability, straightforward maintenance and decent suction consistency from cyclonic action. Things to consider
With up to 15 minutes of runtime and a 5-hour recharge time, it is better suited to short touch-up cleaning than large or heavy-duty jobs handled by more premium handheld vacuums.
Pet hair performance score
6/10 - Suitable for light pet hair on upholstery and small areas, but not a specialist pet tool for heavy shedding.
Car cleaning suitability
8/10 - Cordless design, crevice tool and compact size make it well suited to seats, mats and tight interior spaces.
Portability rating
9/10 - Lightweight cordless format is easy to carry, store and use for quick grab-and-go cleaning.

Key benefits
- 21.6Wh lithium-ion battery: Delivers cordless cleaning with up to 15 minutes of runtime for quick jobs around the home or car.
- Cyclonic action: Spins dust away from the filter to help maintain more consistent suction during repeated small clean-ups.
- Bagless dirt bowl: Lets you empty collected dust and debris without needing replacement bags.
- Washable filters: Makes routine maintenance simpler and helps keep the vacuum ready for regular use.
- Wide mouth design: Picks up larger debris more easily than narrow handheld nozzles.
- Integrated crevice tool: Reaches into tight corners, furniture gaps and car interior edges without needing separate accessories.
- Flip-out brush: Helps lift dust from upholstery and more delicate surfaces during quick touch-ups.
- Cordless lightweight build: Makes it easier to carry and manoeuvre for stairs, furniture and fast spot cleaning.
Q: Can this handheld vacuum cope with pet hair in cars and upholstery?
A: Yes, for light pet hair on car seats, couches and small carpeted areas. The crevice tool and flip-out brush help in tight spots, but it is not a dedicated pet model for heavy shedding across larger areas.
Q: Is the Dustbuster suitable for wet spills or only dry mess?
A: No. This model is a dry handheld vacuum and is not designed for wet spills or liquid pickup. It suits crumbs, dust and other small dry debris on hard floors, carpets, furniture and in car interiors.
Q: How practical is the 15 minute runtime for everyday cleaning?
A: BLACK & DECKER DVJ320J-XE is practical for short touch-up jobs, with 15 minutes of runtime per charge. That suits cars, stairs and spot messes, but it is not the right pick for long cleaning sessions or whole-room vacuuming.
Q: Does this model come with a charging dock or wall mount?
A: No. BLACK & DECKER DVJ320J-XE includes a jack plug charger, and it is not wall mountable. It is better suited to cupboard or bench storage than a fixed charging dock mounted on the wall.
Q: Will the wide mouth pick up larger crumbs and grit easily?
A: Yes. The wide mouth is designed to scoop up larger dry debris more easily than a narrow nozzle alone. It is handy for quick kitchen crumbs, tracked-in grit and car mess, but the handheld bin still suits short jobs best.
Q: Are the filters washable or will I need replacement bags?
A: BLACK & DECKER DVJ320J-XE is bagless, so there are no replacement bags to buy. Its dirt bowl and filters are removable and washable, which keeps routine maintenance simple between quick clean-ups around the home or car.
