Worst Experience - Battery Life is Terrible
I bought the B&D 10.8Wh Lithium-ion Dustbuster Cordless Hand Vacuum and honestly, it’s been the worst experience. The battery drains in no time, making it practically useless. Even after charging for 3–4 hours, it never fully charges, and if left idle, the battery drains completely. This defeats the purpose of having a cordless vacuum because you can’t rely on it when you need it. Very disappointed with the performance and would not recommend this product to anyone.

At a glance
This cordless Dustbuster is a compact handheld vacuum for quick cleanups around the home, car or caravan. It suits households wanting a lightweight secondary vacuum for crumbs, corners and upholstery, with easy wall-mounted storage. Key strengths are its simple bagless bin, crevice tool and grab-and-go design. The main limitation is its short 10-minute runtime, so it is better for spot cleaning than longer jobs.

Things to consider
With up to 10 minutes of runtime and a compact 0.39 L bin, it is best suited to short spot cleans rather than larger or more demanding cleaning tasks.
Pet hair performance score
3/10 - suitable for light loose hair, but it is not designed as a pet-focused vacuum.
Car cleaning suitability
Good for quick car interior cleanups, especially seats, footwells and tight gaps with the crevice tool.
Portability rating
9/10 - lightweight cordless design makes it easy to carry and use almost anywhere.
Battery endurance rating
4/10 - up to 10 minutes of runtime is fine for short jobs but limited for longer sessions.
Ease of emptying
Simple bagless bin is easy to empty after small everyday cleanups.
Key benefits
- Cordless Design: Lets you move quickly between rooms, the car and other small spaces without dealing with a power cord.
- Lightweight Build: Makes frequent spot cleaning more comfortable for everyday messes and overhead or awkward angles.
- Crevice Tool Included: Helps reach into corners, along seat edges and into footwells where larger vacuums struggle.
- Bagless 0.39 L Bin: Handles several small cleanup jobs before needing to be emptied.
- Lithium-ion Battery: Provides up to 10 minutes of runtime for fast pickups of crumbs, dust and dry dirt.
- Wall-Mount Charging Base: Keeps the vacuum stored neatly and ready to grab for quick cleanups.
- Dry Dirt Pickup: Well suited to everyday dry messes such as dust, crumbs and light debris on small surfaces.
- 10-Hour Recharge Time: Works well for overnight charging so it is ready for routine next-day use.
Q: Is this hand vacuum enough for whole-house cleaning?
A: No. BLACK & DECKER NVC215W-XE is better as a secondary vacuum for benches, car interiors, upholstery and other small jobs. Its cordless runtime is 10 minutes per charge, so it is not suited to cleaning large rooms in one session.
Q: Can the NVC215W-XE pick up pet hair from upholstery?
A: Yes, for light loose hair. BLACK & DECKER NVC215W-XE can lift hair from seats and upholstery, but it is not a specialist pet model and does not include a motorised pet tool, so thicker or embedded hair may need more passes.
Q: Will this Dustbuster handle wet spills or only dry mess?
A: It is for dry mess only. This model is designed to pick up dust, crumbs and dry dirt, and it is not a wet and dry vacuum. Liquid spills should be cleaned another way to avoid using the vacuum outside its intended use.
Q: How does the wall mount charge and store the vacuum?
A: The included base can be fixed to a wall for charging and storage between uses. That keeps the vacuum in one spot and off the floor, but a full recharge takes 10 hours, so it suits grab-and-go jobs rather than repeated long sessions.
Q: What attachments are included with the BLACK & DECKER NVC215W-XE?
A: BLACK & DECKER NVC215W-XE comes with a crevice tool plus the charge base and wall mount. That setup suits corners, upholstery seams and car footwells, but there are no extra brushes or specialist heads in the box.
