At a glance
This is a general-purpose carpet washer formula for compatible Bissell machines, made to clean carpets, rugs and upholstery while helping reduce everyday odours. It suits households that want an easy refill option for routine room cleaning and common fabric surfaces. Its key strengths are broad compatibility and simple at-home use, but it is not a specialist formula for heavy pet accidents or deep-set stain treatment.
What it’s great for
- Routine carpet cleaning
- Freshening rugs
- Upholstery maintenance
- Everyday stain cleanup
- Odour reduction
Where it works best
- Living rooms
- Bedrooms
- Hallways
- High-traffic carpeted areas
- Homes with rugs and fabric lounges
Who it’s for
- Households with carpet
- Rug owners
- Families
- Pet owners needing routine cleaning
- Home users with compatible Bissell carpet cleaners
Things to consider
This is best suited to routine cleaning and odour freshening rather than specialist treatment for severe stains, heavy pet messes or delicate non-colourfast fabrics.
Pet & child home suitability
Good for family homes needing routine carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning, provided surfaces are water-safe and colourfast.
Stain removal effectiveness
7/10 - Well suited to everyday stains and general refresh jobs, but not positioned as a heavy-duty specialist stain treatment.
Ease of application
9/10 - Simple to use in compatible Bissell upright carpet cleaners with a wash or solution tank.
Odour removal score
8/10 - Designed to help tackle common household odours during regular carpet and upholstery cleaning.
Key benefits
- 750 mL bottle: Provides multiple tank refills for repeat cleaning sessions before needing replacement.
- Compatible with selected Bissell upright carpet cleaners: Designed to work with machines that use a wash or solution tank for straightforward setup.
- Multi-surface soft furnishing use: Suitable for water-safe, colourfast carpets, rugs and upholstery to cover common household fabric surfaces.
- Routine whole-room cleaning support: A practical option for compact to mid-size carpet washer sessions in everyday home spaces.
- Odour-focused formula: Helps reduce lingering household smells as part of regular carpet and fabric cleaning.
- Broad model compatibility: Listed to suit a wide range of Bissell models including 3670F, 3636F, 1558X and 2222F.
Q: Will this formula work in a Bissell steam cleaner?
A: No. This formula is designed for compatible Bissell carpet cleaners that have a wash or solution tank. It is not listed for steam cleaners, so it should not be used as a substitute for water-only steam cleaning.
Q: Can I use it on fabric sofas and dining chairs?
A: Yes, on water-safe, colourfast upholstery. It is designed for use on upholstery as well as carpets and rugs, but it is not suited to delicate or non-colourfast fabrics, so patch-test a hidden area first.
Q: How well does it handle strong pet odours and accident stains?
A: It is better suited to routine stain removal and everyday odour reduction than severe pet messes. If the main job is repeated accidents or deep-set staining, this formula is a general cleaner rather than a specialist treatment.
Q: How many cleans will one bottle usually give me?
A: The 750ml bottle covers multiple tank refills and is often enough for one to two whole-room cleans in a compact to mid-size carpet washer. Actual use depends on how large the area is and how full each tank is filled.
Q: Do I need a Bissell machine to use this formula?
A: Yes. This formula is made to be used in a compatible Bissell carpet cleaner with a wash or solution tank. It is not a ready-to-use spray or hand-applied spot remover, so it is not designed for cleaning on its own.
Q: Which Bissell cleaners is model 62E5E compatible with?
A: Model 62E5E is listed for a wide range of Bissell carpet cleaners, including 3670F, 3636F, 1558X and 2222F. The key requirement is a wash or solution tank, so check the exact machine listing if your model is outside that group.
