Great product
I've been using this cleaner in an apholstery cleaner for about 18 months now. We have a dog that suffers seizures so this cleaner is used to cleanup occasional accidents. Marks cone of the carpets and no remaining smell. I also use the cleaner on a lounge suite, seats and carpets in the cars. It's an all rounder and appears to be safe on a variety of fabrics/carpets.

This concentrate formula is a necessity for pet owners. It quickly breaks down tough stains and completely eliminates lingering smells. The formula is easy to dilute which makes it economical and it works great on carpet, upholstery and hard floors. It leaves a fresh clean scent without being overpowering.

Bright and clean again
I used this on my carpets and rugs. The carpets came out smelling fresh and new. The rug came up bright and clean. However, it did not remove old ingrained stains which may need pretreatment. I would buy it again.

At a glance
This is a concentrated cleaning formula for Bissell SpotClean machines that helps remove pet stains and lingering odours from carpets and upholstery. It suits pet-owning households that want a practical solution for routine spills and accidents. Its main strengths are targeted pet mess cleaning and good coverage from a 473 mL bottle. Limitation: it must be used with a compatible machine rather than as a stand-alone spray.
What it’s great for

- Odour control
- Upholstery spot cleaning
- Carpet accident response
- Routine household maintenance
Where it works best
- Homes with pets
- Carpeted living rooms

Things to consider
It is designed for compatible Bissell SpotClean portable machines, so it is less versatile than specialist stand-alone stain treatments or premium formulas made for broader surface-specific use.
Pet & child home suitability
Well suited to pet-owning family homes for spot cleaning carpets and upholstery after everyday messes.
Stain removal effectiveness
8/10 - formulated to target pet stains and everyday marks effectively when used with a compatible Bissell machine.
Ease of application
8/10 - straightforward to use by diluting in the machine's clean water tank, though it does require a compatible machine.
Odour removal score
8/10 - designed to help reduce lingering pet odours from carpet and upholstery fibres.
Key benefits
- 2x Concentrate: The 473 mL formula dilutes to make the same amount of cleaning solution as a standard 946 mL formula when mixed as directed.
- Pet Stain Targeting: Helps clean common pet messes from carpet and upholstery fibres.
- Odour-Focused Formula: Designed to address lingering pet smells as well as visible marks.
- Multi-Surface Household Use: Suitable for carpets, rugs, lounges, car seats and hard floors when used as directed.
- Portable Cleaner Compatibility: Made for use with a wide range of Bissell SpotClean portable carpet and upholstery cleaners.
- Accident Response Convenience: Practical for quick clean-up of fresh spills and pet accidents in busy homes.
- Compact Bottle Size: The 473 mL bottle is easy to store between uses without taking up much cupboard space.
Q: Can I use this formula without a Bissell SpotClean machine?
A: No. This formula is designed to be diluted in the clean water tank of a compatible Bissell spot cleaner, not used by hand or in unrelated machines. If you want a spray-on cleaner, choose a formula made for manual application.
Q: Which Bissell cleaners work with model 74R7E formula?
A: Model 74R7E is listed for selected Bissell portable cleaners, including 36984, 3698F, 4720P, 15582, 2006F and 2982F. Check your machine model against the compatibility list before buying, especially if it is an older unit.
Q: Will it remove old pet stains or mainly fresh accidents?
A: It works best on fresh pet stains and odours. Older or set-in marks can improve, but they may not clear completely in one pass and can need pre-treatment, especially on carpet or upholstery fibres that have already absorbed the spill.
Q: Can this be used on lounges, rugs and car seats?
A: Yes. This formula is suitable for carpets, rugs, lounges and car seats when used in a compatible Bissell spot cleaner. Check the care label first on delicate or colour-sensitive upholstery, because fabric suitability can vary between materials.
Q: Does the bottle go far once diluted in the machine?
A: Yes. The bottle holds 0.47L of concentrate, so it is meant to be mixed with water in the machine rather than used straight. That suits repeat spot cleaning, but the number of cleans depends on your cleaner's tank size and fill level.
