This carpet shampoo is great. I have a Bissell machine and this product does an amazing job on my carpets that are exposed to pets and farm boots. Good value for money.

Have Carpet and an inside outside GSD pup!!
I should use this more often, but I do get to clean the carpets once every 6 months. I regularly vacuum the floors, but this helps refresh and cleans up any accidents that occur. The carpets smell fresh and once dried they look amazing. I spot clean with the machine if an accident has occurred but the deep clean is the best. Deep clean does use a lot of the formula and I find I use a bottle to do the whole house. Still worth it and it helps protect and look after the carpet which would cost a lot more to replace.

At a glance
This 750 mL Bissell carpet cleaning formula is made for households dealing with pet stains and odours on carpets and rugs. It suits owners who already use a compatible Bissell carpet washer or spot cleaner and want a practical bottle size for regular clean-ups. Its main strengths are pet-focused cleaning and broad machine compatibility, but it is not suitable for dry vacuums or steam-only machines unless specifically allowed.
What it’s great for

- Spot cleaning carpets
- Freshening rugs
- Regular carpet washer use
- Small-area odour treatment
Where it works best
- Pet households
- Carpeted living rooms
- Rugs in family areas
- Bedrooms
- Smaller carpeted zones
Who it’s for
- Pet owners
- Families with indoor pets
- Bissell carpet washer owners
- Home users needing regular spot cleaning
Things to consider
This formula is best for compatible Bissell carpet washers and spot cleaners, so it is less versatile than specialist stain removers made for wider machine types or manual treatment.

Key benefits
- Pet Stain Formula: Helps target common pet-related messes on carpets and rugs.
- Odour-Focused Cleaning: Supports fresher-smelling carpeted areas after pet accidents.
- 750 mL Capacity: Practical size for several cleaning sessions or multiple tank fills in portable machines.
- Machine-Compatible Use: Designed to be diluted in the machine tank for convenient use with suitable carpet washers and spot cleaners.
- Wide Bissell Compatibility: Fits a broad range of compatible Bissell models, making it easier for existing owners to add into their cleaning routine.
- Spot Cleaning Support: Well suited to smaller affected areas that need quick attention.
- Deep Cleaning Support: Can be used as part of deeper carpet and rug cleaning with compatible machines.
Q: Will this formula work with my Bissell carpet cleaner model
A: Yes, if your exact Bissell model is on the documented compatibility list. This formula is listed for many Bissell carpet washers and spot cleaners, but it is not a universal cleaner for every machine, so match the model number before buying.
Q: Can I put it in a steam cleaner or dry vacuum
A: No. This formula is designed to be diluted in the tank of a compatible carpet washer or spot cleaner. It is not for dry vacuums, and a steam-only machine should only use it if that machine's instructions specifically allow cleaning solution.
Q: Does 750ml go far enough for whole-house carpet cleaning
A: Bissell 99K5E has a 0.75L bottle, which is practical for several spot-cleaning sessions or multiple fills in some portable machines. A full-house deep clean can use product much faster, especially on larger areas or heavily soiled carpet.
Q: Are old pet stains harder to remove than fresh accidents
A: Yes. Bissell Pet Stain/Odour Cleaning Formula generally works best on fresher messes. Older or set-in stains can need repeat applications, and marks that have travelled deeper into the carpet pile or underlay may not lift fully in a single pass.
Q: What happens if pet odours have soaked deeper into carpet
A: If the odour source has soaked below the surface, this formula can freshen the carpet fibres but deeper contamination may still need more than a surface spot clean. A deeper clean with a compatible machine is usually the better fit for that kind of mess.
Q: Is it suitable for non-Bissell carpet cleaning machines
A: This formula is documented for a wide range of Bissell machines. A non-Bissell cleaner is not listed as a compatible product here, so it is safer to use this solution only in a machine whose instructions allow this type of tank-diluted carpet formula.
