At a glance
The Bissell CrossWave EdgeFind is a lightweight hard floor cleaner that vacuums and washes in one go, making it a good fit for homes with sealed timber, tile or laminate floors. It stands out for close-edge cleaning, simple maintenance and separate clean/dirty water tanks. A limitation is that it is better suited to everyday floor care than deep carpet cleaning.
What it’s great for
- Everyday hard floor cleaning
- Wet mess pickup
- Pet hair and crumbs
- Edge cleaning along walls
- Quick whole-room refreshes
Where it works best
- Homes with sealed hard floors
- Apartments
- Family living areas
- Kitchens
- Hallways
Who it’s for
- Pet owners
- Busy households
- Apartment dwellers
- Everyday home cleaners
- Families with mixed hard floors and rugs
Things to consider
It is designed for sealed hard floors and area rugs, so it is less suitable than specialist machines for deep carpet cleaning or large whole-home carpeted areas.
Pet hair performance score
8/10 - Well suited to picking up pet hair, crumbs and everyday debris from sealed hard floors and area rugs.
Allergy suitability
Moderate - Separate dirty water collection and washable filters help with routine dust removal, but it is not described as a specialised allergy-focused cleaner.
Ease of use rating
8/10 - Lightweight handling, single-pass cleaning and a 7.6 m cord make it straightforward for regular household use.
Noise level vs category
Average - No low-noise claim is provided, so it is best considered typical for a powered hard floor cleaner.
Floor type compatibility
Sealed timber, tile, laminate and area rugs
Key benefits
- Vacuum and Wash in One Pass: Cleans dry debris and wet messes at the same time to cut down on separate cleaning steps.
- EdgeFind Cleaning Path: Helps clean closer to skirting boards and room edges for better coverage along walls.
- Two-Tank System: Keeps 750 mL of clean water separate from 580 mL of dirty water so floors are washed with fresh solution.
- ZeroGap Multi-Surface BrushRoll: Picks up crumbs, dust and hair while supporting cleaning across sealed hard floors and area rugs.
- FurFinder Headlights: Illuminates debris on the floor so it is easier to spot dust, hair and crumbs in low-light areas.
- Lightweight Design: Easier to manoeuvre around furniture and into tighter spaces during routine cleaning.
- 7.6 m Cord: Gives a practical cleaning reach for moving around larger rooms with fewer power point changes.
- Washable FreshStart Filters: Simplifies maintenance with reusable filters included in the box.
Q: Can it clean area rugs or only sealed hard floors
A: Yes. Bissell CrossWave EdgeFind is suitable for sealed hard floors and area rugs, so it can handle routine cleaning across both surfaces. It is not designed as a deep carpet cleaner for heavier carpet treatment.
Q: Will it clean right along skirting boards and room edges
A: Bissell CrossWave EdgeFind is designed to clean closer to skirting boards and room perimeters than a standard centre-focused path. It still uses a brush head, so very tight corners and edges may need a quick follow-up by hand.
Q: Which cleaning formula works with the Bissell CrossWave EdgeFind 4136F
A: The 4136F includes a sample size Multi-Surface Pet Formula, and Pet Pro Oxy Formula is listed as a compatible cleaner. If you want ongoing wet cleaning after the sample is used, plan to buy formula separately.
Q: What comes in the box with the CrossWave EdgeFind
A: The box includes the CrossWave EdgeFind, one ZeroGap Multi-Surface BrushRoll, two FreshStart washable filters and a storage tray. A sample size Multi-Surface Pet Formula is also included, so it is ready for initial use.
Q: Are the filters washable or do they need replacing often
A: Yes. The CrossWave EdgeFind includes two FreshStart washable filters, which helps reduce the need for frequent filter purchases. Washable does not mean lifetime-only care, so replacement parts may still be needed over longer ownership.
