Product Overview

Its compact 0.9kg body fits easily in apartments, dorm rooms or outdoor gatherings, making it a practical choice for casual vinyl fans and beginners. The turntable transmits audio via Bluetooth v5.2 to compatible speakers or headphones, or connects with USB Type-C and RCA cables for wired playback.

    Love it so much

New to vinyl and this is perfect for me. Super easy to use and great look and quality. And plus it is portable, I took it out for picnic recently, and it was such a nice vibe.

    Cool portable record player

Works exactly how you'd expect it to, not too sure how it goes in the long term with warping the vinyl, but it seems good so far

    Great price, exceptional service

The Sound Burger is a quality device, make no mistake. Sounds better than most $400 or less turntables - and it's portable. My record collection has come alive again thanks to this little wonder. The Good Guys did a great job - delivery was fast and well packaged.

    Awesome Llittle turntable

This is a great turntable for limited space, portability and ease of use. It is quick to setup, Bluetooth connectivity quick and streamlined. It has a very good quality 45 adapter that also holds the record flat on the platter and the locking feature for the lid is a welcome feature. It has quite a bit of heft that allows it to stay in place on any flat surface you put it onto. The build quality is excellent, rechargeable battery is a welcome change to alkaline batteries, but it does take some time to fully charge. Once charged it gives you many hours of listening before it requires a recharge. Tracking and bias is well controlled and it has a good tracking weight that will not damage your precious vinyl. Tracking at between 2.5 -3 grams. A very high-quality well-built unit that I am very happy with. There is only a small negative and that is the price that is set by Audio Technica for the reseller to sell at. Highly recommended as a first-time turntable for anyone getting into vinyl collecting or for anyone who wants to have the portability to move the unit to another room. Extremely happy with my purchase and the Good Guys customer service is top notch, very quick delivery.

Its light 0.9 kg build, rechargeable battery and simple wireless playback make it easy to use around the home or outdoors. Key strengths are convenience, portability and flexible connections. The trade-off is that it is less suited to serious audiophile setups than larger full-size turntables.

  • Portable Audio Users

Things to consider

It prioritises portability and convenience over the upgrade potential, isolation and refined sound tuning you usually get from larger home-focused turntables.

Beginner vs audiophile fit

Best for beginners and casual vinyl listeners rather than dedicated audiophile systems.

Home audio integration score

8/10 - Bluetooth, RCA and USB Type-C connections make it easy to use with modern speakers, headphones and simple home audio setups.

Portability rating

10/10 - Its 0.9 kg weight, compact body and built-in rechargeable battery are strongly suited to mobile and space-saving use.

Vinyl preservation suitability

7/10 - The dynamic balance tonearm and spring-applied stylus pressure support routine record playback, though it is not as tweakable as specialist audiophile decks.

Key benefits

  • Portable Design: The 0.9 kg body is easy to carry and store, making it practical for small homes and listening away from a main stereo setup.
  • Bluetooth v5.2: Lets you send audio wirelessly to compatible speakers or headphones for cleaner, simpler setup.
  • Dual Speed Playback: Supports both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records, so it works with many common LPs and singles.
  • Rechargeable Battery: Delivers up to 12 hours of playback per charge for extended listening without needing constant power.
  • Belt Drive System: Helps provide smooth and stable record rotation for consistent everyday playback.
  • Die-Cast Aluminium Alloy Platter: Adds rotational stability to support accurate playback.
  • VM Cartridge with ATN3600L Stylus: Offers a clear, approachable sound that suits casual listening and first-time vinyl users.
  • Wired Connection Options: USB Type-C and RCA outputs give you flexibility to connect beyond Bluetooth when needed.

Q: Does this turntable need separate speakers or headphones to play records

A: Yes. Audio Technica Sound Burger sends audio to compatible Bluetooth speakers or headphones, or to wired gear through RCA or USB Type-C. It is designed to play through external audio equipment, not as a standalone speaker unit.

Q: Can I use the Sound Burger away from mains power

A: Yes. Audio Technica Sound Burger has a rechargeable lithium ion battery that supports up to 12 hours of playback per charge. That suits portable listening, but longer sessions will still need a recharge or wired power source.

Q: Is the Sound Burger a good choice for vinyl beginners

A: Yes. Audio Technica Sound Burger suits beginners who want simple record playback with Bluetooth or wired output and no large hi-fi footprint. It is less suited to buyers chasing extensive upgrade options or fine tonearm adjustment.

Q: Can it connect to powered speakers or an amplifier

A: Yes. Audio Technica Sound Burger can connect through RCA or USB Type-C for wired playback, which suits powered speakers and simple audio systems. The receiving speaker or amplifier still needs a compatible input.

Q: Will this suit a small apartment or dorm room setup

A: Yes. The 0.9kg body is easy to move, store and set up in apartments, bedrooms or dorm rooms where space is limited. It still needs a stable flat surface and external speakers or headphones for playback.

Q: How gentle is the tonearm on regular record playback

A: The tonearm uses a dynamic balance design with spring-applied stylus pressure, and the cartridge uses an ATN3600L stylus. That is suitable for regular casual listening, though it is not the kind of deck built for deep setup adjustment.
