Great balanced sound
Headphones have a great balanced sound with a healthy amount of bass, and the mids and upper end are clear and nice. Choice between wired and Bluetooth is very convenient. Earcups don’t fold in, and the headband fits just a little tight on my head.

Worth buying second pair
I purchased this model of headphones just over two years ago. Was so pleased with them, that I have a second pair of this very same model. I can charge one when its battery is empty and use the other one so that I am not missing out when I do need headphones. When the built-in (non-user-replaceable) battery in the first pair has finally been exhausted, I will still have another pair of these headphones. I wanted headphones where I have the flexibility to listen both wired and wireless. I am not interested in noise cancellation, so I am not missing out on this feature. I can charge from anywhere that has a USB-A port. There has been no problem of tightness with either headphones. They feel fine on the head and ears. The sound has been fine for me, whether listening to verbal discussion or music. I just wish The Good Guys had the white one, so I could distinguish from a distance which is which. Only one minor issue is the wearing out of the ear cuffs (peeling off of the cuff material) occurring after some time with a lot of use. This is not a major issue as it does not affect fit/comfort over ears or sound quality, and is what only I as the user notice. Overall, highly recommended, especially as they are not overly expensive.

Things to consider
This model relies on passive isolation from its closed-back design, so it is less effective in very noisy environments than premium headphones with active noise cancelling.
Noise cancelling effectiveness
4/10 - closed-back earcups provide passive isolation, but there is no active noise cancelling.
All-day comfort score
8/10 - over-ear design is made for long listening sessions at home or in the studio.
Commuter suitability
Moderate - long battery life and wireless use are handy, but passive isolation is less effective than ANC models for trains and flights.
Audiophile vs casual fit
Leans casual-to-enthusiast - a solid choice for everyday listening and entry studio use rather than premium audiophile listening.
Multi-device flexibility
9/10 - multipoint Bluetooth and the included 1.2 m cable make it easy to switch devices and keep listening.
Warranty
1 year manufacturer's warranty

Key benefits
- 60-hour Battery Life: Up to 60 hours on a single charge supports multi-day listening with less frequent charging.
- Closed-Back Design: Helps reduce outside distractions through passive sound isolation for more focused listening.
- Multipoint Bluetooth Pairing: Stay connected to two devices at once for easier switching between music, video and calls.
- Built-In Microphone: Makes hands-free calls and everyday voice chats more convenient without needing a separate mic.
- Earcup Controls: Lets you handle volume and calls directly from the headphones for quicker adjustments.
- Low Latency Mode: Helps keep audio and picture better aligned during gaming and streaming.
- 1.2 m Wired Cable Included: Allows wired listening when the battery is low or when you want a stable cable connection.
- Over-Ear Fit: Designed for comfortable wear during long sessions at home or in the studio.
Q: Is the M20XBT suitable for loud trains, flights or open offices?
A: No. Audio Technica M20XBT uses passive isolation from its closed-back over-ear design, but it does not include active noise cancelling. It suits moderate background noise better than very loud cabins, carriages or busy office floors.
Q: How does multipoint pairing work on these headphones day to day?
A: Audio Technica M20XBT can stay connected to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, such as a phone and a laptop. That makes it easier to move between music, video and calls, but audio still comes from one active source at a time.
Q: Will audio stay in sync for streaming and casual gaming?
A: Yes. Audio Technica M20XBT has a low latency mode that helps keep sound and picture aligned during streaming and casual gaming. If Bluetooth delay is still noticeable in your setup, the included 1.2m cable gives a more stable wired option.
Q: Can you keep using them when the battery gets low?
A: Yes. Audio Technica M20XBT includes a 1.2m audio cable, so listening can continue in wired mode when the battery is low. Wired use is also the better choice when you want the most stable connection for a desk, TV or laptop setup.
Q: Are they a good choice for TV listening at home?
A: Yes, if the TV supports Bluetooth or has a compatible headphone output for the included cable. Low latency mode can help with lip sync, and the closed-back design reduces room noise without relying on active noise cancelling.
