Basic but Excellent
Purchased while my regular monitor was being repaired. For the price it's as good as,if not better than the whizz bang one that kept misbehaving. It's compact, light to move, easy to use. Has a good screen, does everything I needed. Definitely a great unit.

Great monitor
Really nice color accuracy only a 60hz but that’s perfect because it’s a second monitor so I watch streaming and have my discord on it. Great product

At a glance
The Acer 23.8-inch Nitro VG0 is a compact Full HD monitor suited to casual gamers, students and home office users who want smoother motion without paying for a high-end display. Its key strengths are the 100Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and flexible VESA mounting. The main limitation is that it stays at Full HD with modest brightness, so it is less suited to premium HDR or content-creation needs.

Things to consider
This monitor is better for smooth everyday gaming than premium visual performance, as its Full HD resolution and 250 nits brightness are more basic than higher-end QHD, HDR or colour-critical displays.
Gaming suitability score
8/10 - Strong for casual and mainstream gaming thanks to 100Hz, 1ms response time and FreeSync support.
Home office fit
Very good for compact desks, mixed work-and-play setups and general daily productivity.
Colour accuracy rating
6.5/10 - Suitable for everyday media and office work, but not positioned as a professional colour-accurate display.
Multi-monitor setup compatibility
Good - the 23.8-inch size and VESA mount make it practical for dual-screen desk or arm-mounted setups.
Eye comfort score
7/10 - Comfortable for general daily use on a compact desk, though premium eye-care features are not highlighted.
Key benefits
- 100Hz Refresh Rate: Delivers smoother on-screen motion than standard 60Hz monitors for gaming, scrolling and daily use.
- 1ms Response Time: Helps reduce visible blur and ghosting during fast-paced gameplay and video scenes.
- AMD FreeSync Support: Matches the monitor refresh with compatible graphics output to reduce screen tearing in games.
- 23.8-Inch Screen Size: Fits comfortably on compact desks while keeping the full screen easy to view at close range.
- Full HD Display: Provides sharp detail for everyday gaming, office tasks and media without demanding top-tier graphics hardware.
- VESA 100 x 100 Mount Compatibility: Gives you flexible placement options with monitor arms or wall mounting.
- HDMI and DisplayPort Connectivity: Makes it easy to connect to modern PCs and many gaming consoles.
- 3 Year Manufacturer's Warranty: Adds longer-term confidence for everyday use and setup reliability.
Q: Can this monitor run 120Hz for PC or console gaming
A: No. Acer Nitro VG0 tops out at a 100Hz refresh rate, so it cannot be set to 120Hz. Motion still looks smoother than on a basic monitor, but buyers chasing 120Hz or higher for competitive play should look at a faster class.
Q: How good is it for fast shooters and racing games
A: It is well suited to casual and regular gaming where smooth motion matters more than maximum refresh speed. Acer Nitro VG0 combines a 100Hz panel with 1ms response time, but serious esports buyers may still want a higher-refresh monitor.
Q: Is Full HD sharp enough on a 23.8-inch screen
A: Yes. On a 23.8 inch panel, Full HD is a sensible match for everyday work, study and gaming at close range. It gives clear detail without pushing graphics hardware as hard as higher-resolution monitors, which suits mainstream PCs.
Q: Does FreeSync work with every PC and game console
A: No. FreeSync only works when the connected graphics source supports variable refresh. Acer Nitro VG0 will still work as a normal monitor over HDMI or DisplayPort, but unsupported devices will not get the frame-matching benefit.
Q: Will it suit a small desk or dual-screen setup
A: Yes. The 23.8 inch size is practical for compact desks and keeps the whole screen easy to view from close range. For dual-screen setups, the lighter build and VESA mount give more placement flexibility than a larger monitor.
Q: Can I wall mount the Acer Nitro VG0 easily
A: Yes. Acer Nitro VG0 supports a 100 x 100 VESA mount, so it can go on a compatible wall bracket or monitor arm. Check that the mount uses the same pattern, because the stand is only one placement option, not the only one.
